The Justice Department on Tuesday said it would provide the House Intelligence Committee with some materials related to special counsel Robert Muellers investigation as long as the panel dropped its threat to pursue an enforcement action against Attorney General William Barr.
The department made the offer in a three-page letter to Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) one day before the committee is slated to vote on what he has described as an enforcement action against Barr. Schiff has not said what shape the action would take.
The Justice Department has said it would allow the full committee to review a less redacted version of the first volume of the report the section discussing Russian interference in which Schiffs panel is primarily interested and identify an initial tranche of materials the committee is demanding that it would prioritize for review and disclosure to the committee.
On Tuesday, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd said the department is willing to expedite access to foreign intelligence and counterintelligence information identified by the committee as a priority if the panel confirms that it will not move forward on a vote on an enforcement action.
Boyd noted that the department needs time to process and review materials from the 12 categories of documents identified by the committee and to consult with the intelligence community before sharing them. But he said the Justice Department may be in a position to discuss making them available to the Committee in relatively short order.

From movie “Final Countdown”
“Why the heck are we playing with these guys?”
I hope Barr provides clearly mark classified information to Schiff, who then leaks it. Then we have you Schiff!
Hopefully this is just rope a dope.
What plan???
Bad optics at the very least. Doesn't look a lot like "winning" unless you are Schiff.
Since when do we negotiate with terrorists?
Stand on principle or die. Compromise in this case will lead to destruction. If the Department of Justice actually made such a bizarre morally bankrupt proposal, then they are badly misled and stupid.
They're treating the survival of the US like it's a game. (check my tag line)
When Barr hands over materials, Shiff will say he is hiding something.
I call BS.
This is designed to make Schiff appear strong and effective.
This just legitimizes the little punk.
Why does anyone believe what is being pushed by The Hill? Barr long ago provided Congress with a less redacted version minus grand jury info, which would be illegal to provide. This whole article is BS.
It’s not real, it’s fabricated.
There’s no legitimizing an act of fraud.
This and another related flurry of BS mentions a ‘3-page memo’ shown to be old.
Schiff and his democrat goons have always had an invitation for members of the House Intel Committee to see the whole enchilada in a SCIF and yet not one has logged into the SCIF.
So this is just theatre to make Schiff look like he’s winning. He’s not.
Please God, let this be fake news.
It is probably a twisting of words basis some type of discussion that has been ongoing. Nonetheless, we have yet to land a glove on the coup or its supporters in Congress. Why should we expect less?
It’s being reported in other news media as well (CNN, CBS, etc).
“Pseudo news!”
Reminded me of when something like that was said by the great philospher Mongo.
no f’ing shiot.

Anyone remember lawless Eric Holder?
