A New York City Firefighter sustained a concussion and several broken teeth Saturday after police say he was assaulted while trying to stop a group of teens from harassing an elderly couple.
The 38-year-old off-duty firefighter was traveling on East 86th St. in Manhattan at around 9:25 a.m. Saturday when he noticed six teens “harassing” an elderly couple, a spokesperson with the New York City Police Department told Fox News.
The man reportedly tried to intervene -- and police say that’s when one unidentified member of the group punched the firefighter “with a closed fist,” knocking him to the ground.

I decided to post it anyway. Because there is a very important lesson to be learned here, one we should all keep in mind. Unless you're Chuck Norris, the first step in confronting a mob is dialing 911. And the second step is to assess the situation. Only then make your move.
Yeah, because when danger is a foot the police are hours away.
If only the elderly couple weren’t out on the street this could have been avoided.

Teens. They come in all colors except, maybe, in NY.
In New York, isn’t it a hate crime for the police to be harassing a group of innocent youts like these six.

The term “teens” must be eliminated. It includes people 13 years old all the way through 19. There is a huge difference between the two. It is colossaly stupid to create an artificial group of people based on the last syllable of the English word that indicates an individual’s age.
And they will get free college if they just write “Black live dey be matter” 100 times.
I don’t see the elderly couple. I don’t see the volunteer off duty firefighter, but my guess is all three people are White.
This is nothing but a Hate Crime by a bunch of young Hyenas. Kids like these set Black people back 40 years in everyone’s eyes.
Disgraceful and shameful. Their turn may come in 30 years, when Muslim youth harass and assault these people, if they survive that long out of custody.
Obviouly he is strong and courageous and he fought back. That is the American thing to do. I hope he did a lot of damage to his attackers.

The think that makes this story more chilling than average for this kind of story is the time of day. I always assumed that yutes, like mosquitoes, were thickest in the evening and night, and fairly light in the morning.
But I guess even an assumption about mosquitoes and time of day is flawed. Certainly seems to be flawed for yutes.

I don’t think the Somalis that attacked people with hammers on the Minnesota college campus were enrolled, so that really wouldn’t be necessary.

I was surprised by that too.
They may be young, but they are thugs, attacking people.
Lock them up until they are 95 years old. Then let them out in some neighborhood, where they would get attacked and see how they like it.
