The National Review is a longstanding conservative news outlet in the United Statesbut what, exactly, are they trying to conserve? This week, an article was published on their website by Razib Khan, an atheist geneticist1 who refers to himself as sympathetic to classical liberalism, by the title of, Conservatives Shouldnt Fear Evolutionary Theory.2

Fake science news by fake conservative NatRev.
From article:
“Khan would have us believe that evolution is a jewel in the crown of Western civilization, but the reality is quite the opposite: evolution is the most fundamental and detrimental attack on the foundations of Western civilization, which are the historical truths presented in Genesis.
Khan does not understand (or prefers not to admit) that the founders of modern science were nearly all Bible-believing creationists who would have balked at Darwinism (and some of them, like Louis Pasteur for example, did so)!”
From:
“Khan was brought up a Muslim himself,
but he did not feel the need to comment
on evolutions compatibility with the Koran!”
“historical truths presented in Genesis”
Genesis is not a history book.
Nope, they have rendered the word conservative useless.
Moreover, conservative evolutionism isn't that surprising (unfortunately). The movement is full of social Darwinists and chromosome-worshiping Bell Curve enthusiasts as well as racialists and civilizationists.
Someone kindly inform NR that the "virgin birth" is a scientific responsibility. Watch them turn into "fundies."
Ah, but it does record and relay REAL history.
The intent of Genesis is certainly NOT history.
As long as evolution is Divinely directed -with humanity created precisely when and where God ordains - I’m not seeing what the theological conundrum is.
The mistake here is to conflate religious conservatism with political conservatism. The two are not the same.
He canoodled with white supremacists, and now advises conservatives not to engage with Darwin skeptics.
Certainly it is. Genesis records the history of the Hebrews. It may be more genealogical than universal in its historical context, but it is an historical book.
Creation Ministries is now part of the Grievance Culture.
Well said. But probably shouting at clouds.
True :)
