WOOOOO-HOOOOO, it’s Road Trip time again, thanks Lauren!
Bible in a Year: 2 Kings 1921; John 4:130
The law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1:17 During a landscape painting class, the teacher, a highly experienced professional artist, assessed my first assignment. He stood silently in front of my painting, one hand cupping his chin. Here we go, I thought. Hes going to say its terrible.
But he didnt.
He said he liked the color scheme and the feeling of openness. Then he mentioned that the trees in the distance could be lightened. A cluster of weeds needed softer edges. He had the authority to criticize my work based on the rules of perspective and color, yet his critique was truthful and kind.
Jesus, who was perfectly qualified to condemn people for their sin, didnt use the Ten Commandments to crush a Samaritan woman He met at an ancient watering hole. He gently critiqued her life with just a handful of statements. The result was that she saw how her search for satisfaction had led her into sin. Building on this awareness, Jesus revealed Himself as the only source of eternal satisfaction (John 4:1013).
The combination of grace and truth that Jesus used in this situation is what we experience in our relationship with Him (1:17). His grace prevents us from being overwhelmed by our sin, and His truth prevents us from thinking it isnt a serious matter.
Will we invite Jesus to show us areas of our lives where we need to grow so we can become more like Him?
How is Jesus using grace and truth to point out issues in your life? Where might He want you to make changes to honor Him more fully?
Jesus, thank You for freeing me from the consequences of sin. Help me to embrace Your correction and Your encouragement.
Hola.
Thanks, unique, for the road trippers!

You’re probably whipped after a long day and have hit the sack already. Sorry to have missed ya.
I hope you didn’t have too much trouble with the wild weather last week.
Howdy, PRO.
Did you have a fantabulous weekend with your daughter in town? Head out to the shooting range with son-boy?
Had a good time with daughter and son and to extend the visit we skipped the gun range for now.
Now, this Saturday her mom and I are heading to Seattle to help daughter move a few blocks away into another larger apartment. Moving is always fun....right, LOL.
Hope my back holds out, LOL...or not.
Lovely weather here continues.
Howz things your way?
Having her in town was a good reason to put off the gun range. Y’all can go pretty much any time you want but you only get to see your daughter every once in a while when she can visit. Glad everyone had a good time.
Don’t envy ya a bit on the moving thing this weekend. Be careful with your back!
I’ve been hauling more junk out of Clara’s house and am aching a bit. Worked for a little while earlier this evening and am taking a break before going back in a bit.
Had a neat find tonight. She had part of a newspaper from 1914 with a couple of articles about what was going on with the war. I guess her father had saved it because Clara hadn’t been born yet.
It’s a bit tattered and I hope to be able to fix it up enough to get it in a frame. We’d love to donate it to the museum.
Could you send some of your lovely weather? Ours hasn’t been all that great lately. It’s been too wet and we have more coming. *sigh*
Howdy, LUV.
Glad you got some rain today. WOOHOO! I hope you got a nice amount this time.
We did get a nice rain...1.2 inches. It was WONDERFUL! And the grass is soo green now!
The kitties weren’t really happy about getting wet while they ate, but I tried to put the food in the driest place I could find. There is no floor space in the shed for food dishes or I’d have put them there.
It looked like it was nice and clear there. A chance for that corn to get some sunshine?
WOW! That WAS a good rainfall! ‘Bout time! I saw the stuff on the radar this afternoon as it was moving in and it did look promising.
It was partly cloudy here today but chilly. Had to wear a jacket when I went out to run a few errands. Tomorrow will be a little warmer, then the heat starts cranking up more and more towards the weekend. Gonna be steamy since rain is in the forecast Wed. through Fri.
The corn is looking great right now. It’s growing so fast, it was noticeably taller today than yesterday. With rain and heat this week, look out! LOL
That corn is growing so fast you could probably sit out in the field and watch it shoot up. LOL! Or hear it.
Sorry it will be steamy, but the warmth will feel good, I’m sure. And wearing 100% cotton will make you more comfy.....which I’m sure you do anyway. I learned that from my trips to Thailand where the humidity sits close to 100% most of the time. Any other fabric makes you feel like you’re smothering.
I've said that to several people. LOL! It's amazing how fast it grows. It won't be long before it blocks the view of the road . . . and the view of the house FROM the road.
Believe it or not, I have very little that's 100% cotton. I hate ironing so don't buy it. I do have several tops made of very lightweight fabric that are very comfortably cool though. They've been brought down from upstairs, washed, and are ready to go.
Heading back over to Clara's for more junk-tossing. Check out my post #13 to see what I ran across earlier this evening. Really cool!
Oh, wow! Finding that newspaper was worth all the hard work. I hope you can restore and frame it. It would be a wonderful addition to the museum.
Glad it’s cool as you work over there! Working in all that dust and whatever would be even worse if heat were added.
How's everyone doing this morning?
