He’s running for re-election.
As soon as he is re-elected he will be backing amnesty and telling the voters they voted for it.

Career prosecutor John H. Durham’s nomination to be Connecticut’s U.S. Attorney got a favorable vote Thursday from the U.S. Senate’s judiciary committee on a day when Democrats spent hours excoriating other lawyers President Donald Trump has nominated for legal and judicial positions.

The committee sent Durham’s nomination to the full Senate on a rare voice vote during a meeting at which most of the other 22 nominees squeaked through the Republican-controlled committee on partisan votes. Carl Tobias, a long-time judiciary watcher on the faculty of the University of Richmond law school, predicted that Durham will fly through the Senate, perhaps as early as next month.

Committee member and U.S. Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., interrupted a torrent of partisan criticism of Trump and his nominees when he singled out Durham for rare praise, calling him a tough, fair prosecutor who has had great success against drug gangs, organized crime and career criminals.

“He knows what it is like to try some of the toughest cases against career criminals,” Blumenthal said. “He is exactly the type of person we should have in that role.”

[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, applauded Judiciary Committee approval of John H. Durham’s nomination to serve as U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut. Durham’s nomination was approved by the Judiciary Committee today by voice vote, and now proceeds to the full Senate for consideration. Blumenthal and U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) recommended Durham’s nomination to President Trump last year.

“I know John Durham well, having known and worked with him over many years,” said Blumenthal. “He is a no-nonsense, fierce, fair career prosecutor. He knows what it means to try some of the toughest cases against career criminals. He knows what it means to try to stop the opioid crisis in this country. He knows what organized crime does to the fabric of our society. He is exactly the kind of person we should have in this position.”

Alas, Judge Joseph L. Tauro won’t get to see this execution of justice. He died on November 30, 2018, age 87.

:: Durham scoffed at Connolly’s claims that he didn’t realize while he was the FBI’s handler for Flemmi and Bulger ::

Hmmmmm...connected to Whitey Bulger, of recent note. Seems there is a Trump Real Estate, LLC connection, too. Something to do with the construction union...

~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I made that same connection too with mention of Bulger, and wondered about that.

Bumping your comment to the top, Cletus!
