Democratic congressional leaders said they held a constructive meeting with President Trump on Monday at which they agreed to seek a deal on a $2 trillion infrastructure bill.
Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) left the meeting at noon sounding a decidedly positive note, calling the meeting with Trump at the White House constructive and good.
They said they had not agreed on how to pay for a $2 trillion bill to improve the nation's roads, bridges, waterways and broadband, but that they had agreed to meet in another three weeks.
And they said the battles between the White House and Democrats over special counsel Robert Mueller's report had not prevented the progress.

Amen to that!
* Nationwide Infrastructure improvements - $2Trillion
* A border wall - unfunded.
* Not a penny for a wall from the 2$Trillion Infrastructure - priceless.
Hey rats the wall is infrastructure.
Let’s start with The Wall infrastructure and once complete move on to other things.
Show me the money.
No offense, but you dont even know what youre talking about. Since the mid-90s the Federal gas tax has been fully allocated to transportation funding. The problem is that inflation and improved fuel efficiency have eroded the value of the fuel tax revenue over time even as the needs for this revenue have grown.
Do you really get the sense that President Trump has closely scrutinized a single spending bill hes signed since he was inaugurated?
Beto.
Hey, why not up our total federal debt by 10% with a massive pork-barrel bill whereby the Dem Congress Critters will be able to buy their re-election?
Yea, makes sense to me.
how much more if you add tolls and vehicle sales taxes and registration and licensing fees?
None of those are normally federal taxes or fees.
Trump when campaigning wanted to do something on this so.....it is his idea the left is coat tailing to
I don’t know about where you folks live, but where I live, I see constant ‘construction projects’ going on all the time.
People seem to talk as if repairing the infrastructure is a one time repair job.
It doesn’t work that way.
No but it provides the Dems a HUGE windfall check to go buy votes.
Check out the cost of those 320 military down to the border. Rush asked what, is the Military now meals on wheels?
I did not hear Rush today (yet)...Dare I ask how much is the cost?? :(
If true there will be no impeachment vote in the House committees or on the floor.
NO WAY Dims will put $2T at risk. That funds a lot of pork.
Tons of it.
What will be the source of the hanging meat? Well it’ll be US Treasuries and Taxpayers, of course.
Will it pay for itself over 30 years? It depends on what is funded. Dims will want at least 1/2 of it to fund “green” projects.
This is the kind of stuff you do during a depression.
I know we havent done much on the roads lately (the big potholes in my town are testament to that!). But where the hell are we going to get $2T to build roads?
I hope he is successful, and drags the D’s through the mud.
