A new car seat law in Washington could have some kids in boosters in middle school.
The governor signed a new law updating car seat regulations. Booster seats would be necessary until children reach 4 feet 9 inches tall.

School buses still exempt?
4’9???? Heck, my 57 year old sister is 4’10!!! She would barely be out of a booster seat ... lol!!
The previous spouse would have needed to be in a booster seat.
A lot of the old Korean ladies we saw in Columbus, GA may not even be 4’9”.
I once saw a pronouncement by some safety Nazi group pushing back seats until the age of 16.
I kind of wondered how the chillens would learn to drive.
What idiocy.
I lead a boys adventure group where we routinely take 11-17 year old boys camping and on other trips, sometimes even the younger boys. I couldn’t imagine having to outfit a van with 11 booster seats.

I would have been in a booster seat in 8th grade - 4’8”
And this clown Inslee wants to be president!? The world is upside down. It’s a joke, but stupid people don’t laugh at themselves.
Exactly and I can’t wait to tell her...lol!
The posts on this thread are giving me some much-needed laughter; much funnier than the mega-buck late night comedians.
These a**hs just like to make laws to promote a product.
Cars are dangerous. Why aren't they outlawed?
I guess not a lot of Filipinos live in Washington state.
My girlfriend is Filipino, but she’s 5’2, so can avoid the car seat, for now.
How about adults under 4’9”?
Can you imagine the humiliation for the kids that would have to use one? Man, I wouldn’t want to be them. That would be brutal.
do they make booster seats for fat kids that are 4 feet 8 inches???
or is this going to generate a whole new product line.
The state’s pygmy community is planning a lawsuit.
Same here, practically. I probably got to 4’9” around 7th grade, but was barely 5’ when I started high school, and 5’3” at the end of sophomore year. Then I grew 6” in a year, and ended up just under 6’. (Now I’m old enough to be shrinking, so I never measure my height. Don’t want to know.)
This is only what is reported. I live in WA and some of the weird stuff to come out of Olympia is down right scary. The state symbol should be a diaper.
