CNN)A year after her 1986 death, the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers erected a statue to honor renowned singer Kate Smith, whose rendition of "God Bless America" was played during home games for decades, including the 2018-2019 season. But on Sunday the Flyers announced they had removed the statue, saying the team had discovered some of her songs contained racist lyrics and sentiments that were "incompatible" with the organization's values.

I can’t remember the other team. That was the year the Flyers beat the Bruins for the Cup. I was also in attendance that year when Dave Schultz scored a hat trick. And we lived 4.6 hours from Philly by car. Lucky to have ever seen a game in person. Always sold out.
One more reason to turn away from these people and their pathetic inability to stand on their own. If they perceive a scowl on my face directed at them, I hope they recognize their aggression earned it.
And the Flyers can kiss my butt.
I certainly hope the surviving Broad Street Bullies speak up about this.
The best was when the Flyers beat the Soviet Red Army team.
The Soviets left the ice because they were upset at the Flyers’ rough play, the entire crowd starting chanting “They’re Going Home!”

It’s Philadelphia where the “STUPID” runs strong in the sewers and minds of it inhabitants.
How stupid can the Flyers leadership get? Well, obviously there is no limit to their stupidity, but they won’t get my money, ever.
Our history and culture are being erased; the “fundamental transformation” didn’t end when Obama left office.
As they start judging ancestors by ‘evolving standards” soon nothing will be tolerated - the past will have to be wiped out every day at a specified time....not long now and they will embark on a mission to recall Voyager because it shows a man and a woman....
Of course the owners and leadership of the flyers also habe virulent racist thing they did in the past and they are doing all they can to hide it. But it does not matter, just like ralph northam in Virginia, the leftist media will not report on it.
