Republicans in Washington are dead set against Judge Roy Moore being the partys Senate nominee in Alabama next year and say they will do whatever is possible to prevent that from happening.
Moore is expected to announce a decision soon on whether to challenge Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.), a top Republican target, and a new poll shows him leading a field of possible GOP Senate candidates.

Democrats have admitted they paid for phony “Russian bots”, and used them to claim that Moore was Putin’s man.
Or, at least the billionaire who paid for it has admitted it.
“Nah. Go ahead and try to “Kavanaugh” Roy Moore a second time. It’ll be amusing to watch. He’s a solid conservative vote every single time. And that’s all that should matter. Anyone sacrificing that consistency for “social media popularity” isn’t doing the whole “voting” thing right at best, or is working for the wrong party at worst.”
I don’t want him to run. His time has passed. But there are a butt load of people on FR who drank the media kool aid about him. They don’t realize, like I said in a post above, that he was in the public eye for 30 years and their ridiculous 30 year old accusations were all they could come up with.
For all you people defending Roy Moore, here are his own words
Roy Moore on whether he dated teenage girls: Not generally, no
.....And while he called the story completely false and misleading, he said he didnt dispute that he used to date girls as young as 16
..Moore also added that he doesnt remember ever dating any girl without the permission of her mother.
And before anyone calls me a "fake conservative," keep in mind that I'm probably one of the few people here on FR who would have supported Moore in 2017 even if every allegation against him was proven to be true.
I'm sure he's a solid citizen and a principled conservative. I have seen no evidence that the guy would be an effective U.S. Senator. And I've seen plenty of damning evidence that he's a terrible candidate for a seat in the U.S. Senate.
>>>No offense to anyone from Alabama here...I find it astonishing just how marginal (at best) these people are. Is this really the best y’all have to offer??
You just touched the tip of the iceberg. 2017 was a banner year in Alabama. We also had Robert Bentley exposed as the “Love Guv” for his affair with a staffer. House Speaker Mike Hubbard was imprisoned for using his office for personal gain. Roy Moore was suspended from his position on the court and then lost the election.
Moore is a nutter...move on.
“who has, as Chief Justice of the AL Supreme Court, been removed for cause twice”
Yes, removed for standing up for the beliefs of Alabama citizens (the ten commandments and gay marriage)against our tyrannical federal government. And then reelected. God forbid we should have a conservative who will fight for his (and our) beliefs. Maybe we need more of him, not less.
I agree Moore is a despicable pedophile. His policies I like but to defend him when he is a proven pedo is defending ideology over morals. Ideologues are the most dangerous to freedom
“In ‘Bama there is no primary. “
There are primary elections in Alabama.
He didn’t have his shot. Party leadership, which despises Deplorables, sabotaged his campaign. And they’ll do it again, rather that have a US Senator who Mitt Romney and his fellow Illuminati can’t control.
I don’t often agree with the party elites but in this case they are right. He is damaged goods. Even setting aside the creepy allegations involving his personal life, he is a certified wing nut. The man is a Dominionist, who is on the record as stating that the Holy Bible (presumably his interpretation) takes precedence over all man made laws including the US Constitution.
He is wack job and patently unfit for any office of public trust.
I could easily see him voting against Kavanaugh's nomination because he finds under-aged drinking scandalous. Seriously.
Voters have the right and duty to decide no matter twhat the politicians want.
Moore’s disgraceful antics in the aftermath of his previous primary runs for the governor’s seat in Alabama pretty much destroyed his political future. It is the height of audacity for a guy to be such a sore loser in not one primary race, but TWO ... and then complain when the party leadership doesn’t support him in another election later on.
They were dead set against him the first time around, and this is before lying bitches "Kavanaughed" him with made up bullsh*t accusations.
The Establishment is against any reform candidate that they think they won't be able to buy off.
+1

Thats funny...I havent seen him cast a single vote in the US Senate. You have to win your election to actually have a seat and vote in the Senate. Roy Moore FAILED TO WIN HIS LAST ELECTION and would be no better a candidate in 2020 than he was in the last election. HE WAS AN ATROCIOUS CANDIDATE.
Its not been fun seeing a DemocRAT from Alabama vote in the Senate. I do not want to see that travesty extended for SIX MORE YEARS because wed be stupid enough to have Roy Moore as the candidate again.
That decision is up to the voters of Alabama, not “GOP leaders”. The rest of us don’t have any business sticking our noses into who the people of Alabama send to Congress for them.
I agree, Roy Moore for better or worse is a lightening rod in a state that should be a cake walk for Republicans, heck I would take Jeff Sessions running again before we have to all in for Roy Moore again...
