Republicans in Washington are dead set against Judge Roy Moore being the partys Senate nominee in Alabama next year and say they will do whatever is possible to prevent that from happening.
Moore is expected to announce a decision soon on whether to challenge Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.), a top Republican target, and a new poll shows him leading a field of possible GOP Senate candidates.

He had his shot and lost in freakin' Alabama. In 'Bama there is no primary. By the way all the creepy allegations against him will come back. Joe Biden has nothing on Moore in infatuation with under 18 year old girls. In Alabama, all the candidates run in round 1 with the top 2 going to round 2. If enough GOP candidates run Democrats might do some strategic voting to ensure Moore makes the runoff.

If this guy runs again, he will be in "Jumped the Shark" territory.
No offense to anyone from Alabama here, but I look at all of the prominent Alabama Republicans I've seen in the news over the last few years: Jeff Sessions, Luther Strange, Richard Shelby, Roy Moore ... and I've got to tell you -- I find it astonishing just how marginal (at best) these people are. Is this really the best y'all have to offer??

Those primary voters could very well be stupid.

Any one with any sense is against Roy Moore. Anyone who could lose to a Democrat like Doug Jones is a terrible candidate.

Nah. Go ahead and try to "Kavanaugh" Roy Moore a second time. It'll be amusing to watch. He's a solid conservative vote every single time. And that's all that should matter. Anyone sacrificing that consistency for "social media popularity" isn't doing the whole "voting" thing right at best, or is working for the wrong party at worst.

Roy Moore didn’t deserve to have his reputation dragged through the mud as a pedophile with the flimsiest of evidence...a good bit of it fabricated. That doesn’t mean that he was a good candidate or would make a good US Senator.
Whoever is running against Doug Jones is going to have to effectively address the Roy Moore slander in a hostile media environment, whether it’s Roy Moore or not.

Not from Alabama but I always enjoy visiting, especially Ozark and Talladega. Roy Moore would probably lose again so he must not run again.

He's a solid conservative vote every single time. That would be great. First he has to WIN ... which isn't going to happen.
Leave aside all the fabricated "scandals" about Moore. The guy was an awful candidate, period.

Another Moore run is a bad idea. He proved that he couldn’t handle the heat. He is too old and slow for the modern no-holds-barred gladiatorial tournament style politics.

Even though I believe his election was stolen and the smears were fictional flax meant to provide a cover story for that bi partisan theft, I can’t support this rerun. The odds of holding the Senate are stacked against Republicans and it must be held for when Ginsburg croaks.

I think Roy Moore should bow out, but I do not believe your description of him. He was in the public eye for 30 years and all they could come with was spurious allegations from 30 years ago. I have seen no evidence of anything he did that would compare him to Biden.

Right on, AC! It’s time for the people who look for a Bible hanging out of a candidate’s back pocket be given a back seat to someone who is a decent candidate. A candidate’s religious preferences should not be the litmus test for the voters. Moore is a kook, who has, as Chief Justice of the AL Supreme Court, been removed for cause twice. He does not belong as Alabama’s Senator. It’s crucial to the Trump Agenda to have someone other than Moore running against Jones.
To: C19fan
Moore lost to Jones once. He’d lose to him again.
