Alberta Election Live Results: UCP forms majority government
Calgary Herald ^ | April 16, 2019 | AMANDA STEPHENSON

The United Conservative Party has formed a majority government.

With 2,012 of 7,337 polls reporting, premier-elect Jason Kenney’s party is leading or elected in 63 ridings, with the NDP leading or elected in 23. There are 87 ridings in Alberta, and 44 are needed to form a majority government.

The result makes history, in that it marks the first time an Alberta government has gone down to defeat after only one term. After sweeping to power on a wave of dissatisfaction with the reigning Progressive Conservatives in 2015, Rachel Notley’s NDP could not replicate their unprecedented “Orange Crush” or convince Alberta voters that their record on the economy was sound.

It looks like Comrade Notley and her band of failed communist wannabes has been defeated in the Alberta general election. Good riddance to bad rubbish! These jokers even made Obola and crew look almost palatable. Unfortunately, the New Democraps (NDPers or 'dippers to many people) were not completely shut out and it looks like Nutley has kept her seat. With any luck, the new gubmint will start a criminal investigation into the 'dippers.

As per the norm, Edmonton retains its nickname of Redmonton, the city being all orange (the 'dippers chosen colour), with the 'burbs being solid blue (conservative).

Will Alberta ever recover from the damage wrought by Nutley and Turd-owe? One can only hope! Will we ever boom again? Not to the extent that we did under Ralph Klein. Is Jason Kenney anything more than a bag of wind (as opposed to the bag of manure that best describes Notley)? Let us hope so! As soon as he takes office, he needs to fire a great many of the socialists imported from the rest of Canada and the US, whose principle goal was the ending of Alberta exporting tar sand oil to the US and other parts of the world.

He then needs to follow through on his promise and cut ALL gasoline exports into the Province of British Columbia, until they stop screwing us. He also needs to provincialize the tax system, cancel ALL transfer payments to Provinces that suck on our teat, while screwing our economy, and create an Alberta Provincial Police force (an extension of the AB Sheriff's Office?). He also needs to tell the 47 year old Male teenage girl prima Donna Prime Minister that HE needs AB more than AB needs Kanaduh!

Could always apply to become a new US state and blow a bunch of lefties’ brains (or what passes for them.)

Swell, I plan on visiting your fair province this summer and I don’t want to see any Bernie’s or Beto’s.

Cool. Congrats from an Ontarian, who hopes that with Doug Ford in charge here, and hopefully a better govt. in place in AB, some shit can finally start to get done.

Maybe it even bodes well for the upcoming Federal Election this fall. :)

Didn’t the NDP run Ontario also for only one term?
How anyone thinks good could come out of a free
enterprise-hating gaggle of business bashers in
the first place is agonizingly stupid.

Good to see Canadians are waking up to the fraud of the left. How long before Baby Doc Trudeau is gone?

Just hearing Kenney’s victory speech. He just told the foreign leftist interests, such as the Rockefeller brothers, the Tides Foundation and several others, that NOW is the time to LEAVE Alberta NOW!

I am pleasantly surprised by the strength of his speech, nothing milquetoast about it. Now, will he follow through? I sure hope so!

When I talked with Kenney several weeks back, he talked a good game. I told him this is his only chance to deliver or the patriots will.

Just listened to his speech, it sounded very good. I LOVED how he attacked the foreign champagne socialists who funded the ‘dippers and so destroyed our economy, telling ‘em to GTFO (My words, not his). Until this speech, I did not like Kenney. In fact, when I went to vote today, the UCP was my first choice ONLY because the Freedom Conservative Party did not have a candidate. In fact, it was a case of holding my nose and voting UCP.

I know that he has to be gracious to Comrade Nutley but I would have preferred that he have a PDJT moment, calling her and her ilk, for what they are.

Congratulations Alberta!! You are on your way to getting your province back.

However, after 8 years of Obama here, you too will find many social and legal “land mines” left by the ‘dippers that will take years to find and detonate . Example: Redmonton.

Sadly, getting your province and country back wont be a slam dunk. But it's a damn good good start,eh?

The fact that there are conservative Premiers in AB, SK, MB, ON, and NB, bodes well for Canada and should be making the 47 year old male, teenage girl Prime Minister quake in his/her ballet slippers. The problem is that the Lieberals are still quite popular in spite of the idiocy or Turd-owe. Hopefully, all his shenanigans will run off on the Lieberal Party, and the Conservative Party will win in October.

4 years in the making. Kenney has a lot of shite to clean up.

And Alberta needs Poodoh to be gone, he wouldn’t let Notley build a pipeline to save her pathetic ass, he sure won’t let Kenney.

Good news is Poodoh has been damaged by some scandal, a Canadian firm bribed the Libyan government for a contract and he ordered his AG to give them a break or something. I don’t see the wrongdoing, bribery is how you do business in Libya. But whatever, our neighbors to the north are offended and the Liberal party has been trailing in the polls. The government almost fell a few weeks ago cause they didn’t have enough people on the floor to outvote the opposition. They got their Speaker to pull some shenanigans and extend the vote.

Sore loser of the Conservative leadership race, Maxime “Maxie Pad” Berrier, has formed his own party, but is getting very meager support. Obviously Scheer was the correct choice.

We can hope!

I am a Yank, married to a Blue Nose girl I met in the years I worked up there (1982-85). I recall fondly the wonderful Canadian people.

You deserve better than Sunny Ways and his ilk!

Liberal pigs on twitter are sure upset. Notley has a lot of fans, too bad for her, few of them live in Alberta.

A change in the federal government is one necessary step, the other would be a change in the B.C. government which is allowing its radical Green allies and associated native bands to veto the pipeline projects from Alberta to the ports on the Pacific coast. Elections are due in the fall.

B.C. public opinion is divided about the same way that Washington and Oregon are divided by the Cascades into two different regimes, although there is no shortage of leftists in some of the inland parts of B.C. too. However, the last provincial election was a very close one and the more reasonable Liberal Party (not really that close to the federal Liberals and mostly conservative on business and development issues) has a good chance of returning to power and that will probably end this mess anyway.

The federal Liberals under Prince Justin have not formally opposed the pipeline project, but many think their lukewarm or ambiguous support is really opposition dressed up to avoid political fallout. The strategy hasn’t worked, they might as well have said they were opposed and cut into their leftist opponents’ vote, because anyone to the right of center in Canada would never vote for them now.

Actually there is a separatist movement in Alberta. They want to become our 51st. state. I say no. We do that and every Canadian goes pouring into Alberta and eventually here. For crying out loud with all the sh!t going on at our Southern border we don't need more trouble to the north.
