So, when a historic landmark is designated UNESCO world heritage site, control of said landmark goes to the UN? Not the country where the landmark is located?

Just curious and confirming, for anyone who happens to know.

Nah - it’s been a loooong time since some trees of sufficient size have been available to provide timbers like what appears in older structures...we harvested them for such projects and it takes (to quote AOC) like forever for others to reach that size....
Of course, we can now put together all them arches and timber spans with custom built/glued ones...just doesn’t look the same.
