Now We Know the Exact Lie Google CEO Told Congress (trunc)
Conservative Tribune by WJ ^ | April 11, 2019 | Josh Manning

Posted on 04/13/2019 5:55:07 AM PDT by Twotone

A political nuke has detonated in Silicon Valley, and Google is ground zero.

Late Tuesday, excerpts from a reportedly leaked internal Google document were published by The Daily Caller. The excerpts, if accurate, confirm what conservatives have long suspected — that conservatives are being actively suppressed by arguably the most powerful company in the world.

The Daily Caller reported that a Google blacklist of websites includes right-leaning publishers such as the Conservative Tribune (a property of The Western Journal), as well as “Gateway Pundit, Matt Walsh’s blog, Gary North’s blog ‘teapartyeconomist.com,’ Caroline Glick’s website … and the website of the American Spectator.”

The impact of this leak can hardly be overstated. Google is already reeling — and panicking, as the quality of its first response to the leak reflects — because of how bad this looks for a company that has vociferously denied rigging its products against conservatives.

But far and away the most devastating part of the leak, which Google doesn’t deny is authentic, appears to confirm that Google CEO Sundar Pichai either misleadingly parsed the truth or did, in fact, lie to a committee of the United States Congress.

So why cant google do what they want? Display links that they want. Not to display others? I run my company the way I see fit and if folks want my services fine. If not fine. People aren’t forced to use my company nor google.

I went to images.google.com, input “white family” and got THIS stock photo:

You’re being deceptive. Thousands of different images come up.

No that’s what text search gets you. Every one of those pictures has the words “American inventor” in the caption. Not their fault “African” appears before many of them. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, and a text search gets you EXACTLY what you asked for.

Thanks, Liz.

I remember watching this guy on Tucker’s show, that night, and being furious!!!

If this doesn’t justify breaking up/regulating these tech giants, along with FB, Twitter, etc., what will???

I sure hopw this is all handled before 2020. I wonder what is being done, in Congress, about it.

Would they fall under jurisdiction of the Utilities Commission?

They’re getting into VERY DANGEROUS territory for a public company. Their main product, by far, is their search engine. And if people think it’s biased in any way, they better watch out...because people won’t trust them on ANYTHING. Look up a hotel to stay at in Geneva, for example, why would anyone trust their recommendations - perhaps the millennial who controls that search received a bit of dough from certain hotels, or just doesn’t like other hotels because they’re run by people who fund Republicans.

And if their stock drops because of this crap, that’s when the lawsuits start.

This will be fun to watch!

Anything that comes from Gateway Pundit and Jim Hoft is sensationalized garbage.

“Dr. Epstein revealed that just one Google shift in search results on Election Day 2018 shifted from 800,000 to 4.6 million votes to Democratic candidates”

Only a fool would believe that. At best they would have to control ALL search and media consumption for a period of months to change even 1 million votes.

As if there were 4.6 million undecided votes, that actually voted on election day. Ludicrous on it’s face.

What do you mean Google “changes the search terms”? I tried “blacks killing cops” in Google, DuckDuckGo, Bing, Yahoo, DuckDuckGo, and Yippy and didn’t see any of them changing search terms. (I DID see “cops killing blacks” one time in the Google search bar, but I think I mistyped it myself. I repeated it several times and it does not change the search phrase.)

I’ve never seen any search engine change the actual search words or phrase.

What is telling is the searches in the six search engines. All of them returned many of the same articles and videos, but the results in all do seem to somewhat tilted toward the reverse, “cops killing blacks.” Because this is so uniform, it appears to me that the people producing “cops killing blacks” material are doing a better job of Search Engine Optimization rather than the search engines being biased. I wouldn’t expect the search algorithms at six separate search engines to all be biased in the same direction — UNLESS they are all using some common search engine under the hood.

There’s also a difference in the number of hits (shown in millions below):
Google 1.85
Yahoo 14.3
Bing 14.3
DP no number
DDG no number
Yippy 14.3
IXQuick no number

I tried it in Google, and they are slightly different.

What you should try is the search with the terms in quotes. That makes the search use the exact string in order, instead of as just key words.

Then you will get very different results.

It’s OK with me that they are a family.

It’s not OK with me that Google is giving you that pic as one of the top results when you search for [all white family].

Google is a non-clever propaganda organization.

There are grifters on the right who sensationalize things just like there are on the left.

Then we have confirmation bias that kicks in.If someone says something we want to believe we are more likely to agree with them without critically analyzing the claims they have made.

To be clear I think that Google is biased and under handed, but like you I don’t see Gateway Pundit as an honest broker of information.

When faced with the likes of Google, I can easily become a Teddy Roosevelt Republican, who I think would break Google up into pieces and regulate many parts of it, just like a “public utility”.

It goes beyond fraudulent. The FEC needs to get involved along with the SEC, as this represents a massive in-kind political contribution.

The most frightening thing about all of this is not the lie itself, its that its being exposed, the curtain is being pulled back for all of us willing to look to see it,

The ones who believe these lies are the same ones that will follow anti-Christ,

They believe the lie and its so deceptive even the very elect would be deceived it if were possible,

Only the Holy Spirit can pull that curtain back,

(And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.- Matthew 16:17)

Mariner, take your ‘sensationalized garbage’ mantra up with Tucker Carlson and FNC producers, not those who are merely discussing the info.

You say it is garbage, others say the research is worth looking into. Especially if it’s swaying ANY number of votes.

Comparing a publicly traded, multi-national corporation to your or anyone else’s “company” is ludicrous.

Sure, if you own all of the stock of a private corporation, LLC, etc. you are free to run it as you see fit. But even then, the purpose of forming a separate entity rather than using a DBA may be pointless depending on how you choose to run your company. Your company may not protect your personal assets depending on how you run your company. You could be personally liable for the financial obligations of your company. Lawyers call this “piercing the veil”.

Google is not the private property of the CEO or board members. It belongs to the shareholders. And, since it has access to the markets (i.e. is publicly traded), it MUST be and IS highly-regulated.

If two independent corporations secretly collaborate in a price-fixing scheme, it could be a crime in which someone goes to jail. For example, what if all of the companies that sold gas got together and said, “Let’s double what we charge for gas.” That’s criminal. And you can’t say, well just don’t buy gas, or don’t do business with them. Because, if they are all in on it, you are still being stolen from as a consumer.

But what if those same companies merged into one?

With Google, we have the equivalent of thousands of companies rolled into one. And they have monopolies, near monopolies, or virtual monopolies in many areas of commerce. They have their hands in everything. There has to be consumer protection from fraud and other criminal acts.

You say don’t do business with them. That’s impossible. Just having a cell phone means there is a 50% chance you are doing business with them. They own Android. And even Apple, your only other choice, has numerous agreements with Google.

If you browse the Internet, you are using Google. Even if you don’t use Chrome, Android, YouTube, or Gmail, your data is visible to Google. Google hosts a large percentage of websites on their cloud platform. Many others host elsewhere but still use Google for security, authentication, web traffic tracking and analytics. Google does AI, robotics, military research, self-driving cars, Internet access, and countless other products and services in many markets. Many entire industries—whole categories of business—live or die based on how Google treats their businesses.

On top of this, much of what Google does is very secretive. How can you even know to boycott a company whose leaders are plotting against you based on your religious or political beliefs if you are totally unaware they are doing so?

Google and its leadership are probably guilty of anti-trust and fraud. It needs to be broken up.
