Prominent Twin Cities businessman Irwin Jacobs and his wife were found dead Wednesday in their Lake Minnetonka home in an apparent murder-suicide, according to a close friend and business associate.
Orono Police Chief Correy Farniok said officers who responded to the Shoreline Drive home shortly after 8:30 a.m. found the bodies in a bed along with a gun.

You didn’t answer my question. You just replied with saying you’re okay with gun laws, in your state.
Again....you’re saying (upthread) that you don’t think responsible, law abiding citizens should be allowed to have a firearm (gun), in congested areas...to protect themselves and others. People should only be allowed to have them in rural areas and for hunting.
Do I have that right?
Are you also saying that the only people who should be allowed to have guns in their homes, in a neighborhood, are “cops”?
Just confirming.
(That’s amazing that you have a way to keep track of EVERY firearm, in every household, in your neighborhood.)
List of 58 arrested in child trafficking sting in Minneapolis.
Looks like we have some adherents of the religion of pieces.
You don’t have that right in nys so don’t bring your gun here. What you do in your state I don’t care. Your not changing my mind. So don’t waste your time.
NYS has a database for all handguns. I think CA also has one. You need a license and permit for a handgun in NYS. You do not need one for a shotgun or rifle except in NYC. I don’t know anyone who owns a gun, except one cousin in his 70s. He is a big hunter. I have never touched a gun or seen one up close
Well, you still didn’t answer my original question.
I just find it amazing.....in fact, I think you may be the first person that I have encountered, on THIS forum, who has said they are “anti-gun”....as you stated in your post (#39), that I originally replied to.
First for everything.
First for everything.
Not sure this forum is for you.
One of my first jobs out of college mgmt trainee for big had company. Part of rotation included riding with guys with shotguns to turn off gas for nonpayment. When I told mom this was named she called HR next day said I didn’t send my daughter to college to be around guns. She not returning.
Typo gas company. I moved to finance industry. So I guess it runs in my family.
My dad did use a rifle in WWII.
Maybe this thread that morphed into this subject is not for me. I’m fine with this forum for many years. What’s your problem?
My problem is with anti-gun members of Free Republic.
Members like you.
Bless your heart.
Damn yours.
First for everything.
Well, having an admitted anti-gun/pro gun-control poster on this forum, is probably a first.
I’ll give you that.
Wow. This post really shows your ignorance. Urban areas are significantly more dangerous than rural areas, because of the ghetto filth and criminal scum that tend to congregate in these areas.
Places where there are more people and a higher population density increase the danger that human predators will attempt to prey on others.
The 2nd Amendment isn’t about hunting. It was intended to protect the God-given right of self-defense and to have a mechanism in place to overthrow the government when it becomes tyrannical.
Your attitude is a great example of why city dwellers tend to become liberals. They become submissive sheep and rely on nanny government to do everything for them. However, you only have an illusion of safety and security.
The police cannot be present everywhere at all times. The fastest police response time will be minutes late when you need it the most.
We are commanded by our Creator to take responsibility for our own safety, and not pass off all responsibility in that regard to others or the government.
It’s also clear that you have no idea what you are talking about when you reference “automatic weapons.” You are just parroting MSM fake news talking points.
Responding to you as you have been reasonably polite unlike those that damned me and called me ignorant. First you said that I said ok for Jacobs to kill his wife. Untrue. I’m against violence. I support 2nd amendment and gun control laws in my state.
First you said that I said ok for Jacobs to kill his wife.
No, I never said that.
Go back and reread our entire exchange, where my original reply to you began, and the questions I asked you for clarification of your Im anti gun statement.
You also said that theres a first for everything when I posted that you are lithe first anti-gun poster is come across, on this forum.
You’re anti guns? Damned if you’re not in the wrong place!
