A US Secret Service agent inserted a USB drive infected with "malicious malware" into his laptop after the hardware was confiscated from a Chinese woman who was arrested late last month after attempting to gain entry to President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.
Agent Samuel Ivanovich testified in court on Monday that he put the thumb drive into his own computer, and it began installing files in a "very out-of-the-ordinary" way. He quickly stopped his analysis of the drive, the Miami Herald reported.

This could be the reason the woman was practically begging to get arrested specifically by the secret service, it could have resulted in a serious breach of Trump's advance team and security protection details and may be the reason Trump fired the Secret Service director.

He actually thought it would be a good idea to test it out on his laptop. There are no words.

Makes me wish for the days when these clowns just cavorted with hookers. Then, they could only infect themselves with a virus.

I am sure Agent Ivanovich disabled his network connection, etc., before turning his laptop into a strictly useless ‘test device’ that would never see any real Secret Service business activity again.

I have worked with the SS regarding a hack on a bank. Not the most skilled bunch.
Having said that, at some point in time, it is necessary to see what is on the USB ... by a forensic investigator and using special tools on hardened and isolated laptops.
