I think it’s Sanders folks out here saying this and Obama is trying to put a stop to it for his buddy, Joe because he will be and is their front runner. The Sanders people don’t want to be robbed again. I need popcorn for sure.

you have to recognize that the way we structure democracy requires you to take into account people who don’t agree with you, and that by definition means you’re not going to get 100 percent of what you want"

So says Mr. We Won, You Lost.

“You should take some time to think in your own mind and continually refine and reflect, ‘What are my core principles?’ Because the danger is if you don’t know what your principles are, that’s when you compromise your principles away,”

If Obama takes his own advise to reflect, I wonder if he will ever realize and admit to himself that it was his “administration” and the tone he set in motion around the world that virtually handed out the “ammo” to the “circular firing squad” and I wonder if he’ll then understand that he’s still standing in the middle of the circle as he continues to hand out ammo.

Advise: When you are in a hole, stop digging!

i’m not listening, but others might want to. check near the end. it’s all part of the Obama Foundation training young leaders rubbish...it’s Obama’s equivalent to Al Gore’s Climate Reality Project:

2-hours-plus. final 10 minutes, Q&A - Obama wants a check. speaks about donors. leaves stage to meet with the “young leaders”. he’s unbearable to listen to:

Youtube: Guardian News: Obama addresses European young leaders in Berlin – watch live
Streamed live 12 hours ago
Former US president Barack Obama addresses a town hall of around 300 young leaders from across Europe.

Climate Reality Project: Our mission
Led by former US Vice President Al Gore and CEO and President Ken Berlin, we do it by empowering everyday people to become activists, equipped with the tools, training, and network to fight for solutions and drive change planet-wide.
The result is over 19,000 Climate Reality Leaders mobilizing communities in over 150 countries. Branches in 10 critical nations and regions around the Earth. 100 activists chapters (and growing) pushing for practical clean energy policies across the US.
Together, they add up to a powerful movement growing by the day.

6 Apr: AFP: Obama hails youth climate protests
Former US president Barack Obama, visiting Berlin on Saturday, hailed weekly protests by youths against climate change, saying “the sooner you start, the better.”
The Friday protests involve schoolchildren and teens and have been inspired by Swedish teen activist Greta Thunberg.
“Many of these people can’t vote, they are too young to vote yet, but they know what’s going on,” Obama said during a meeting with youths in Berlin.

“You wouldn’t let your grandparents decide what music you listen to, or what clothes you wear. Why let them decide what world you will live in,” he said.
“Things change when we strongly mobilise,” he said. “Our planet on which we live is in danger. We can’t succeed by sitting back and waiting for someone else to do it”.

Obama, who left the White House in 2017 after two terms, was in Germany to promote his foundation.

where you start shooting at your allies because one of them has strayed from purity on the issues. And when that happens, typically the overall effort and movement weakens," he explained.

What obama describes here is a BIG problem in the republican party.

A lot of republicans sit on their hands and don't vote unless they see a candidate who is exactly what they want on all issues, which is virtually impossible.

We lose a lot of elections because of these purists.

“...will the infighting continue to further divide the party?”

Is this author serious? We all know a good supply of popcorn is in order with 18 or 20 or whatever the number is now of Democritic candidates. Just picture Hillary with one serious candidate opposing her - oops sorry for your accident. I’m sending flowers. It’ll be a nice burial.

“I do worry about sometimes among progressives in the United States —maybe it’s true here as well...”

Zero is just not a smart guy. And he cannot pretend to be smart. He is just dumb.

What do you mean “maybe”? Do you read the news or talk to locals? Or are you ignoring the obvious since the obvious convinces people that you are a failure as a leader and as a person. “Maybe.” Yeah. Ok, buddy. Go to the home now.

Look what it did for AOC.

“”You should take some time to think in your own mind and continually refine and reflect, ‘What are my core principles?’ “

Simple, for them it’s “power, lots of it, all of it”. Not “My way or the highway”, just “My way. Period. Full stop.”

Obama thought democrats were immune to the infighting because they had a “Dear Leader” to follow who could keep them united in a cult of personality, and after him would follow another “Dear Leader.”

The designated one lost, though.

Jeez, I hate to agree with BO on anything, but this isn't just a problem on the (D) side.

Look no further than FR.... "Though we agree on 98% of everything else.....(insert name of politician) will NEVER get my support, because (he/she) once said something that I disagree with!"...

Heck, Pres Trump has done more for conservatism in the past 2 years than the entire GOPe has done since Reagan, and there are FReepers who don't support him because he's too liberal. Or that he's divorced. Or from New York. Or whatever.

So, as much as I hate to admit it, BO is....ugh...right. Hopefully some on our side were listening too.
