US military intervention on the table for Venezuela
Washington Examiner ^ | April 5 2018 | Joe Gehrke

A military intervention to oust Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro remains “a very serious option” for the United States, according to President Trump’s national security team.

“Obviously, that’s a result that no one would like to see but clearly one that is seriously considered as events unfold,” a senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters Friday evening.

Is there not some far flung places where they could serve as ambassadors? Way far flung.

You mean we should pay our $222 Trillion Dollars in debt & liabilities rather than start a new war after all the other regime change wars failed & made things worse for everyone?

What are you, some kind of Commie?

Good. Let’s invade Venezuela via Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. By the time our forces get to Caracas, the local populace will all be dead from starvation, but we will have cleared the zone south of our border.

Many prominent Venezuelan resisters are cursing PDJT for not intervening and sending troops. I think the President is correct in his actions. In neighboring Colombia, they hated the USA for intervening in quelling socialist guerrillas and other damned leftist beasts. They welcomed the money, the arms and some of the advice but in the end they saw us as interfering with their internal affairs.

How would Venezuela be any different if we permit our sons and daughters to bleed and die for them?!?

Certainly enable them to slaughter the socialists beasts and also the ones who have infiltrated Colombia, but use their own troops, sons and daughters. Maybe they will be appreciative this time. Maybe not, but we will still have our sons and daughters.

Yes, I have family and friends all over the area.

Not one more American life or limb for a society that makes the wrong decisions. Let Russia and China support Maduro and build their Western Hemisphere influence. Neither will do a damn thing against us.

Not a government in the World has forgotten we were the first and only nation to use nuclear weapons. Yes, they have them also. However, both nations understand MAD and love their children, unlike the crazy Norks and Mullahs. They can use Ven's oil to prosper, and we can use sanctions and diplomacy when they feel froggish. Not another single drop of blood!

Sleep in peace knowing our Trident submarines are out there. I do because the opposition nuke nations don't know where they are. Forget bombers and silos, one Trident with 24 multi-mirv warheads could eradicate much of any country in the World. They ALL know it.

A new Venezuelan government will shut down Cuba’s economy by denying them oil and it wouldn’t surprise me to see the new government kicks out China, Russia and Iran. There is going to be a huge PURGE!

Air cover is key! A little air cover helping the Venezuelan people take their country back is feasible and needed but no US Troops on the ground. If we can create a small well armed insurgency that can start picking off key local Maduro supporters, a few Cuban military advisors, Cuban troops and capture their weapons then factions of the Venezuelan military will come to the aid of their fellow Venezuelans.

Our fire house is on fire and we are being overrun. Sending troops to other countries is stupid and hypocritical.

Yup—border issues are a thousand times more important than anything happening in Venezuela.

If we can’t or won’t solve the border problem there is no point in having a military at all.

Why? Because they have to largest reserves of oil in the world. Second our refineries can’t refine anything but the oil from there.
Now do you want Russia or China in control of all that oil?

I can see us doing air power and a naval blockade, but the lead on this ouster would have to come from Brazil or Columbia IMO. They have to be the ones that send in troops.

A long time ago pal was sent down to Vz to rebuild a fertilizer plant built originally by the Italian National Oil Company. It took the better part of a year to get the prill process right, fueled with plentiful and cheap Vz natural gas.

Then Hugo was elected and some military guys showed up with some new “empolyees” for the plant.

The goof-offs were friends of Hugo and disruptive. Plus occasionally threatening.

A US company jet had filed flight plans for an airport in nearby Columbia but went on to Vz and collected the guy and his wife, returning them to the US.

They left their car, apartment, refrigerator full of food and pet cats behind. The revolutionaries didn’t know they had left until a day later.

A true story.

“Hope I didn't need a sarcasm tag’’. No problem. I hear you. I'm just so fed up with all of it. Naturally I want an end to illegal immigration and I want a least a two year moratorium on legal immigration. For crying out loud, who made us Motel 6 for the world? Where was that ever decided?
