US military intervention on the table for Venezuela
Washington Examiner ^ | April 5 2018 | Joe Gehrke

A military intervention to oust Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro remains “a very serious option” for the United States, according to President Trump’s national security team.

“Obviously, that’s a result that no one would like to see but clearly one that is seriously considered as events unfold,” a senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told reporters Friday evening.

“Lots of mixed feelings on this. Hate to see the people suffering but is it really our concern?
I’ll support Trump’s descion.”

Agreed. BUT, in the meantime, all of our adversaries should always believe that everything is still “on the table.”

I live part time in Colombia..4-5 months a year. I’ve met so many refugees from Venezuela...even knew a guy that was shot there. I’m aware of the conditions. One side of me says “Let’s go kill commies” but the other side says no go.

No. Take care of our border. We do not need to be messing with other countries.

When did Congress declare war on the government of Venezuela?

Alternatively, when did that requirement in the Constitution get repealed?

Absolutely not. No way. We have thousands of moochers and free loaders being let into our country on our southern border and we’re going to go war mongering in Venezuela? For what purpose? We do that and every Venezuelan comes pouring out of the country straight here and every cockroach from every Central American crap hole with them. For God’s sake El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras are emptying their countries into ours!

Where does it say in the Constitution that the American military shall be used to fight in foreign wars for humanitarian causes?

The Constitution requires a declaration of war by Congress. I must not have gotten my newspaper the day they declared war on Venezuala

Let’s not overlook the fact the Vens voted for socialism when they voted for Hugo.

The first thing to accept is the hardest.

1) Ben Bernanke, by creating 1/4 of US GDP through printed money in QE, rendered that substance called “money” an invalid measure of anything moral.

2) All isms, capital or social, are ideologies that evolve from that nothingness created substance — money.

3) How can we want to go to war over an ism based in nothingness?

4) In Venezuela, the majority votes socialism. They did for Chavez over and over, and they did for Maduro. Why? Because the poor majority are given free housing and free food. The word “free” loses meaning as money has, but for them it’s traded for oil — which is not created from nothingness.

5) So . . . one opts to hate socialism rather than respect democracy — because some US neocons want their oil. Make no mistake here, it’s only about oil. Where was this outrage over Myanmar? They have abused their people far worse. But . . . they don’t have oil.

Yes, Democrats have a history of supporting foreign invasions and nation-building. Woodrow Wilson, LBJ and Obama are classic examples

Whatever the Vens voted for, I don’t remember Congress voting to declare war.
