That makes me sad.
It’s HARD to get rid of people once they’re there.
But at least try to oust the illegals.
I KNOW it can’t be done, but it seems like maybe it shouldn’t be so easy to pack up and move to another state.
Not to visit, but to move there.
When other states are threatening your very existence.
Can we somehow merge austin with manhattan and sink both and help each other out?
Difference is those folks across the water from me are infesting other states.
But honestly, the most NYers moving are from upstate and MANY are conservative.
I’ve known more Conservative NYers who have moved than liberal.
But then i run in conservative circles.
Had three nest of them in my eaves in Illinois.
Just after sundown, I taped the holes with painter’s tape (blue stuff), attached a wd40 spray “straw” to a can of raid and poked it through the tape (easier to make the end pointy). Put 1/4 of the can in each hole and walked away.
Never saw them again.
Swarms of non-compliance wherever this is tried.
Damn, old Aunt Bee was quite a looker...around 1854 or so.
It sounds like time to perfect a Bee Bomb. A can of insecticide that can be placed under a swarm and set off with a ten second delay.
It’s a shame to do that to the bees, but what choice will people have?
I am more interested in WHY she feels this is necessary. There will be the verbal reason she gives as justification, but I am sure there is an underlying (monetary) reason she will not share. Maybe she has a relative in the bee-keeping business that wants to get rid of a few competitors.
Sounds like you have a “source” in a nearby woodpile.
Maybe scout that out and treat it with multiple dousings?
Vinegar..................
"...beejesss wat da ell is DAT?
SOMEBODY has a bee in their bonnet.
Honestly, how would you ever hope to improve something by putting people who don’t know how to do it in positions of oversight over those who do, and gooberdrones at that? People are weird.
You know, I still remember a time when Americans would basically IGNORE, DISREGARD, and blatantly REFUSE TO COMPLY with any edict or diktat issued from a feral hog of a human being like this.
The Texas legislature has addressed all of the serious issues, and can now move on to less urgent matters like bees and plastic straws.
Thank God they only meet every two years for 90-day sessions. Our jackass carpetbagging Lt Gov. wants a full-time legislature.
When my husband and I were building our first home, an old abandoned farmhouse was on the property. We wanted it torn down, but based on the massive cluster of honey bees that would hang off the eve in the heat of the afternoon, we knew it was occupied with a lovely colony. I loved putting my ear against the wall inside and listening to them buzz, and standing under them hanging just to watch. They are beautiful/my favorite insect by a long shot.
This is before I started beekeeping myself, and the keeper who came to remove them said they’d been in the walls at least 2 years, more likely 3. No matter though. He took them home and said it was a very, good queen they had :) Then and only then did that old house come down.
“Soon she will move to protect the bees, killing them will be illegal. The only way to deal with them will be licensed bee control companies.”
At what point will be no longer be allowed to kill a wasp nest?
In bygone days, I printed up a nice sign to post on the fire department and volunteer fire department bulletin board to call me if a swarm needed to be removed. I captured many swarms as a result of the notifications.
I did not deal with bees firmly entrenched in a building.
There is no cut and dried way to deal with a swarm. Each is different.
” Why fix it if it aint broke? “
Because that is what liberal facists do. Break things.
carpenter bees........ spray the hole. Plug the hole
Probably. I live in the woods. I mean IN the woods. No furnace. Use a wood stove so the wood pile is enormous. Guess I’ll put up some carpenter bee traps and simply continue to be....diligent.
