More than a dozen state lawmakers filed onto the stage, summoned by the smiling leader of their state: Ralph S. Northam, the governor of Virginia.
On the governor’s right were a handful of House Democrats, who as a group in February said they were “no longer confident in the governor’s representation of Virginians,” after learning of a shocking racist photo on Mr. Northam’s medical-school yearbook page.
On his left were mostly Republicans, including the speaker of the House, Delegate Kirk Cox, who’d declared that Mr. Northam’s “ability to lead and govern is permanently impaired.”
Some on stage were members of the legislative black caucus, which called the yearbook photo “disgusting, reprehensible, and offensive” and “a complete betrayal.”
Even so, as Mr. Northam took out a pen at the event last week and signed bills to overhaul the state’s foster care system, the lawmakers of both parties stood behind him, grinning and clapping.
This is the strange, suspended state of Virginia politics, just two months after scandal after scandal seemed to be devouring the state’s government from the top down.

It did its job about knocking Northam’s extremely sick and twisted - and yet highly representative of Democrat thinking - infanticide comments off the front page.
It went poof because of the unexpected. When it was just two white men who did stupid things way back in college it was a scandal. But when the Lt Gov unexpectedly had serious allegations made against him involving sexual assault, the story did go poof. So much for #metoo.

The Democrats don’t forget their scandals. They just stick together and avoid self-destructing over them. They are not about to sacrifice an election over any scandal, much less a fake one. When a Republicans suffer from a fake scandal, i.e., Steve King and Roy Moore, the virtue signalers flee and throw their people under the bus.

True but it got to the point where the LT Gov would replace the Gov, then the AG ‘damned’ the Gov on Sat and admitted to same BS on Mon THEN the other crap rose up against the LT Gov.
Then there was ‘talk’ of dumping all 3 UNTIL ‘they’ realized the next in line for GOV was a Republican.
THEN they drew the battle lines and tried to squelch everything....looks like they have succeeded...
The photo with Franken’s hands either ON a sleeping woman’s breasts or VERY CLOSE to a sleeping woman’s breasts is what did him in. The rest of the complaints are pretty much she said/he said.
Except for Northam......I am baffled as to how he is getting away with his ‘blackface’ picture.....except that he lied about it and said it wasn’t him.
After watching it for awhile, it looks like the NYT is the designated bulldog to drive Biden away. They haven’t even dug into his college days yet, much less than High School.

The question is, who is behind this ? Not R’s. It’s some one on the left, they managed to damage Northam, Fairfax and to a lesser degree, Herring.
Joe Biden is toast because I’m betting Terry McCauliffe wants the job.
The VA Republicans are useless. The two rape victims want to testify, under oath, in the legislature, but the poofters say the minority Dims are somehow blocking them.
It’s not that the Dims are so strong here, it’s that the GOPers are such pansies.
