Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is also creating the false narrative. Emanuel is disgracefully blaming President Trump for the phony "hate crime" attack that was intended to incriminate his supporters, and by implication himself.

Chicago police union called for a federal investigation into Kim Foxx’s handling of the case.....her sub rosa actions on the Smollett family’s behalf after she was contacted by Tina Tchen, Michelle Obama's onetime aide. “Amateur hour is over.” ....this is nothing new for Kim Foxx. We’ve been complaining about her for two years on so many levels. Her office is just completely out of control.”

Equally reprehensible are the idiots at Southern Illinois University School of Law who gave her a law degree.
And those at Southern Illinois University Carbondale who let her out.

More than anything this entire story reminds me of Kurt Vonnegut’s description of the “Money River”. About how folks born on the money river are taught at a very early age to sip quietly lest the hoipaloi hear you quaffing gregariously and learn of the location of The Money River. Those who don’t learn the lesson find themselves cut off and they just move the Money River and don’t tell you where it now is.

Critical Theory, taken as an intellectual whole, is entirely ludicrous, denying as it does the very foundations of fact. However, it has been a highly effective tool in swaying emotions, which are the foundation of politics, and in the resulting accumulation of political power. It is a luxury of a society wealthy enough to afford the consequences of denial of reality until that society isn’t anymore.

He spent 29 years in the jungle after the war was over.

Hiroo Onoda remained in the jungle on Lubang Island near Luzon, in the Philippines, until 1974 because he did not believe that the war had ended.

He was finally persuaded to emerge after his ageing former commanding officer was flown in to see him.

Correspondents say he was greeted as a hero on his return to Japan.

As WW2 neared its end, Mr Onoda, then a lieutenant, became cut off on Lubang as US troops came north.

The young soldier had orders not to surrender - a command he obeyed for nearly three decades.

Lifson is right on target here. I trace all of this idiocy back to one quote that completely undermines our entire legal system:

Our political/legal landscape right now is dominated by the natural extension of this silly, meaningless crap. Juicy Smellitt defined "his own concept of existence" as one where he was the victim of a racially-motivated bias attack. Whether it really happened or not was of no consequence at all -- either to himself, to his supporters, or (apparently) to the U.S. Supreme Court.

I can see this whole nation and its entire social order unraveling very, very quickly.
