The US has approved the sale of nuclear power technology to Saudi Arabia, the Reuters news agency reported on Thursday. Reuters says US Energy Secretary Rick Perry has allowed companies to sell know-how to the desert kingdom as part of a hoped-for broader deal

Citing a copy of a document it had seen, the global news outlet said US Energy Secretary Rick Perry had granted six secret authorizations to companies to sell the know-how to the desert kingdom as part of a hoped-for broader deal on nuclear power.

Reuters said that the US was looking to build at least two nuclear plants and that Russia and South Korea were also vying for the project. An announcement on the winning bid was to be made later this year, it said.

Quoting a source that declined to be named, the agency said Perry’s approvals enable companies to conduct preliminary work on nuclear power before a deal is signed, but that no equipment that could be used in a nuclear plant would be delivered.

“Sharia Rick rides again.”
______________

You mean Sharia Don. No way could the Secretary of Energy greenlight such an initiative without express approval of POTUS.

I hope that the President reconsiders this decision. Sure, the Saudi leadership is friendly to us right now, but who knows what will happen 10 or 20 years down the line? And if the President wants to poke the Iranian mullahs in the eyes, there are less dangerous ways to do it.

No. I mean Sharia Rick, the man who gave Mosques in Texas Sharia courts.

The man with a proven track record of offering the Muslims whatever they want.

His Appointment to any post whatsoever was guaranteed to lead to things like this, and Texas Freepers pointed out that Perry is an Islamist when the Appointment came up.

Is Trump responsible for not overruling the little sheethead? Yes. But appointing him in the first place was where the big mistake was made.

Well, why don’t you explain what you know that makes you confident in this as opposed to lobbing an insult?

Why did we do that? Why not just give them a Thorium Reactor instead? All the advantages of nuclear but no waste to dispose of.
