Jussie Smollett is in the clear after the District Attorney in Cook County dropped all charges against the “Empire” star over allegations he lied to police in faking an alleged hate crime against himself.
According to reports, the state filed the motion to dismiss the case and the judge signed off. The judge also granted a motion to seal the case, according to Charlie De Mar of CBS Chicago.
Jussie Smollett is expected to speak to the media once the hearing has concluded.
Smollett’s attorneys released a statement saying, “Today, all criminal charges against Jussie Smollett were dropped and his record has been wiped clean of the filing of this tragic complaint against him. Jussie was attacked by two people he was unable to identify on January 29th. He was a victim who was vilified and made to appear as a perpetrator as a result of false and inappropriate remarks made to the public causing an inappropriate rush to judgment.”

The $3500 check was for workout training. (that's why it was in the news). He paid that way before the incident. THEN, he paid them $500 to go buy the rope, masks, etc. and meet him by the Subway just prior to them leaving for the airport. That is the part that the news keeps forgetting to mention.

There is a guy here in Houston who calls himself “The King of Bonds” (bail bonds, that is). One of his billboard slogans was “We understand. Sometimes bad things happen to good people”.
I hate to say it but I agree with Rahm Emanuel. Sometimes you have to try a case even though you think you may lose it for the principle of it.
Well I can’t see the DOJ, Barr, not pursuing the federal case because the guy is an actor in Chicago, IL.

Word is like Ron Brown said he was going to talk if indicted.... Next thing we know he ended up dead.
Jussie Smollett said he was going to rat out Obama that that is behind this attempted race war do the same thing if indicted. Then all of a sudden all charges are dropped.
Yeah this thing is A LOT BIGGER than on the surface.
