Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) issued a barrage of criticism about the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 on Wednesday, which marked the 16th anniversary of the start of one of America's longest-running armed conflicts.
In a series of tweets, the Minnesota congresswoman labeled the George W. Bush administration's invasion of Iraq "illegal" and called for those involved in the explanation and lead up to the war to be held accountable.
"16 years ago the U.S. illegally invaded Iraq, leaving a trail of destruction and lives lost," Omar tweeted. "4,496 U.S. troops lost their lives. 100,000+ Iraqi civilians [were] killed."
"We must hold accountable those who repeatedly lied in the run-up to war," she added, citing specific statements about alleged weapons of mass destruction including biological weapons, none of which were ever found, that were made by President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney.
"All of these statements were not only false, they were known by intelligence agencies to be lies at the time. To this day they have not been held accountable," Omar wrote.
The Iraq War is not as simplistic as a Tweet rebuttal you Muslim Twat. Very few were AGAINST it until it was politically expedient like your BS Islamic azz. I can’t wait until she has something to say about 9/11. What more I want to say about this POS cannot be said here.
she really needs to buy a history book.
It wasn’t illegal just boneheaded. Bush must have not heard of Iran
I am not a leftist stooge.
I am just saying that the Iraq War was a disaster. Period. We lost that war. We lost the Vietnam war.
Not at all. Im just pointing out the whole “Bush lied” thing isnt as cut and dried as some might have you believe.
I’m hoping that the person that posted his or her disdain for moral frauds was referring to Omar and not you. I understood your position clearly.
Period.
End of story.
Own it.
They're saying that orange man is bad on Twitter today. Ignore the angry women at your peril. We should be very afraid. Fear the angry burb women with Gender Studies degrees who make great foreign policy experts. These angry millennial burb women use fear-inducing up-speak and vocal fry so we should be shaking in our boots.
Period.
Bush did not lie.
Saddam did have WMD. Some were even used on our troops.
The details are clearly articulated in the Duelfer report including pictures and maps detailing where they were found.
Many were moved to Syria.
The anti-Iraq argument and premature withdrawal but the Anti-Iraqians like Obama directly spawned the creation of ISIS in precisely the terms warned by Bush to Speaker of the House Pelosi in January of 2007 in the SOTU.
The Anti-Iraq argument has killed many more muslims and led to much more disastrous policies for all people than the US led war. More than 75% of the Iraqi deaths in the war were caused by anti-US forces against Muslim targets.
Trump isn’t omniscient.
We shouldn’t have invaded Iraq.
We should have bombed it, Kabul, Tehran, Mecca, Islamabad, and every muslim capital in the region back to the stone age.
And we should have bombed Mogadishu, capital of her homeland, SOMALIA.
if we had then maybe we wouldn’t be listening to this drivel from this koranus licking cunning stunt.
Imagine hundreds of thousands of The Deplorables, who have the time, digging the truth out and exposing the enemies within 24/7?

HE WAS MUSLIM.
HE WAS A TERRORIST.
We should have nuked Baghdad, Mecca, Islamabad, Kabul, Tehran, and Mogadishu.
We should have done to Iraq what we did to Germany.
DE-JIHADIFY IT.
Close down all the mosques, then open a few up one by one that are “moderate”, make sure all food and water are distributed only to and by ANTi-JIHAD moderates.
want to eat? DENOUNCE JIHAD.
Want to starve? FIGHT? We kill you.
3 Saddam did shelter all Qaeda leaders.
Absolutely right.
As the President reminded us today, this war, so hastily and falsely begun Sixteen years ago has been a complete disaster. One we are only now beginning to recover from.
Veneration of The Ghost of John McCain and Limp Dick Cheney will not just change this fact.
I stand with the President and against the failed wars of failed administrations.
PAX TRUMPANA, Baby!!
Bush was criticized for nation building and refused to steer anything that was anti their culture...
Trump on Iraq: How Could We Have Been So Stupid? “One Of The Worst Decisions In The History Of The Country”
At a town hall event in Bluffton, South Carolina today Donald Trump expounded on his remarks about George W. Bush, his handling of the 9/11 terrorist attack and the invasion of Iraq. Trump said all he is doing is telling the truth and he doesn’t care if Bush is insulted because he made “one of the worst decisions in the history of the country.”
“You know, if Bush is insulted, I don’t care if he’s insulted,” Trump said Wednesday. “It was a horrible mistake. We should have never been there. Somebody says, oh, that’s not good to criticize? I say criticize? It’s one of the worst decisions in the history of the country. We have totally destabilized the Middle East.”
“We spent $2 trillion,” Trump said about the Iraq war. “Could have rebuilt our country. We could have done so much with that money. And instead, we’re worse in the Middle East than we were 15 years ago. Right now, it’s a disaster.” ...
... Trump said Saddam Hussein kept Iraq in check and was good at killing terrorists and after the U.S. removed Hussein from power Iraq turned into “Harvard” for terrorists.
“Saddam Hussein was a bad guy, but you know what he was good at? Killing terrorists. He was killing terrorists,” Trump said.
“Now, Iraq is Harvard for terrorists. If you want to be a terrorist, you go to Iraq. It’s Harvard,” Trump told the audience.
Trump said Iran is finally getting what it wants: Iraq.
Bingo
Thanks.
there is much correct in that statement,
I would personally only point out that deposing Sadaam made sense at the time because he was threatening to go to war against his neighbors,, invade them...
BUT ... IF we went in, we should have pretty much gotten out in a short time.....inho....setting up a couple bases for forward deployment purposes against the Iranian threat (which was plainly there and visible at the time) and to make sure any new dictator in Iraq didn’t try to follow in Sadaam’s footsteps
a couple of bases could, I think, have done it quiet well. I think, anyway.
No need to try to run the damned country.
Anyway those are my thoughts and nobody is gonna agree, probably, so I will drop it.
its done with anyway.
but at any event, MOST (not all) of the $$ PDJT mentioned, could have been saved this way... and if he wishes, could have been spent at home.. my thought would be to build the damned wall and return the rest of the taxpayers...and we still would have, imho, done some serious good
OTOH - making claims of having lots of WMD’s right after the biggest terror attack on us, ever, was not a bright thing to do.
