Under capitalism, ownership brings control, and Fox News has a new corporate parent that began trading yesterday on NASDAQ. There are reasons for conservatives to be deeply concerned. Sarah Ellison and Paul Farhi write at the Washington Post:
Fox’s parent company is undergoing a generational change — one that produced another, perhaps more subtle sign of independence from the president.
On Tuesday, Fox Corp. began public trading as the new parent of Fox News, Fox Entertainment and Fox Sports; the company is the result of 21st Century Fox’s sale of its film and television assets to Disney Corp. The new company is headed by Lachlan Murdoch, the eldest son of Rupert Murdoch, who co-founded Fox News with Roger Ailes and remains a controlling shareholder in Fox.
Among Fox Corp.’s first acts in business: appointing former House speaker Paul D. Ryan to its board of directors. Ryan is, of course, an establishment conservative disliked by both Democrats and those who most strongly supported Trump. Although he advanced some of Trump’s agenda, particularly tax reform, as speaker, Ryan declined to defend Trump or campaign with him in the latter stages of the 2016 campaign.
Ryan is also increasingly blamed for not passing funding for border wall construction while Republicans controlled both houses of Congress.
The acquisition of the film and television entertainment assets to Disney closed at midnight last night, so the restructuring of Murdoch assets now is complete, with Fox Corporation’s market cap more directly linked to the perceived television fortune of Fox News, along with Fox Sports and Fox Broadcasting.

I dumped my cable three years ago, and no tears were shed in my house.

Stopped watching FAUX News a long while ago...................
In a box.............
If you think the board is bad, get a load of the executive management...
Wow.
I noticed Faux going left waaaay back, then stopped watching it totally.
Cold Turkey stops Fox withdrawal...................
I would like to see all the conservative hosts go to OAN at one time leaving fox high and dry
What floors me is that they’re not even trying to hide it anymore.
Which is fine, as I and many others will totally ignore them from now on....................
If? IF? Where have you been? Fox News began “going MSNBC lite” years ago, they are just completing the transformation.
Fox News is dead! They committed suicide and literally killed it with their own hands.

Think jumbo shrimp.
I’m sure there are “non compete” clauses in their contracts to prevent them going to another TV network.
Thanks....but a link to a ‘protonmail.com’ email ‘trail’ is your source?
I’m not saying it wasn’t a possibility, but it’s a stretch to trust this as an actual source.
Thank you for your reply and for finding your link. Just not buying it as a solid source.
Yep...isn’t Bill Sammon, who is a big time anti-Trump/RINO a Fox VP and in charge of DC programming?

Oh, the possibilities! : )
“Do you happen to have a link proving Pence was a part of said ‘attempted to thwart PDJT’ group?”
The beauty of a good conspiracy theory is that there is no need for evidence of any kind. You can simply assert something to be so because the idea popped into your head.
With things like Pizzagate we have actual emails using pedophile code words. The Clintons and Podestas have never even attempted explain the meaning of their language in these emails. They never denied the emails belonged to them. Yet the media calls this a conspiracy theory and claims it has been “debunked.”
I can’t understand why members of this forum will buy into claims about Pence with absolutely no evidence. And especially why do so against someone who has a strong conservative track record? The left hates Pence as much as Trump. Why should conservatives be getting on that band wagon?
When people attack Pence on this forum, my perception it is based on a disgusting bigotry against Evangelical Christians by those who are not Evangelical Christians. That’s my conspiracy theory. I can’t tell what is in the hearts of his detractors, but I can say that such criticisms against Pence should be based on evidence when being posted on a conservative forum such as FR. Unsubstantiated attacks on conservatives do not belong here.
Agree. Thus my reply to the poster....regarding ‘story’ and ‘source’.
I had to play Columbo, for a bit :)
Fox management is listening to their “journalist” division and getting ready to commit national suicide by becoming an also ran in the cable news business. They hate the evening line up and want rid of them. FNC used to give decent down the middle coverage for half the country.
If they go the route they are headed CNN us too! Us too! Then look for a new news network to pop up replacing them. Nature abhors a vacuum. By 2020 they will be as anti-Trump as CNN and PMSNBC and Carlson, Ingraham and Hannity will be gone or muzzled.
The more exposure OANN can get the BIGGER it will become.
