As the investigation into the college admissions bribery scandal continues, prosecutors learned that grades and test scores werent the only things that William Rick Singer faked. The mastermind revealed that he also falsified students ethnicities to get them into the countrys top universities.
According to the New York Post, Assistant US Attorney Eric S. Rosen told Judge Rya Zobel that Singer [lied] about students ethnicities and other biographical information in an attempt to take advantage of perceived benefits from affirmative action and other programs.
The case, which is the largest college admissions scam in the history of the U.S., has raised a lot of questions about affirmative action, specifically whether or not it should be abolished.

“If your white kid cant be admitted because his slot is going to some minority, game the system.”
Recall that NFL recently promised BLM’s darling Cupcake Kaepernick that they’d be giving away more minority scholarships.
Just making more room for ‘em all.
IMO Any US student that wants to study STEM and maintains 3.0 or above should be heavily subsidized by the US government.
Seems like any selection process that replaces merit could be said to be at least contributory.
The only effective difference between
the scamming and affirmative action is with AA the corruption is official. The result of both systems is to replace qualified applicants with unqualified entrants. It rots the system into the bargain by inducing the universities to dumb down their curricula in order to pass these fools and dummies on to degrees.
yup- typical left wing hypocrisy:
Sen. Elizabeth Warren says she has ‘zero’ sympathy for parents caught in college admissions scam
Remember, to the left, they want to get rid of meritocracy in favor of equality of outcomes.
The only way they can achieve that is to lower the standards to the lowest common denominator..................
I keep seeing g stories about the “hundreds” of names but I have yet to see a very small handful of names.
Are most of the names being withheld or are they mostly people I wouldn’t know?
High Time to determine the scope and dimension of the collusion among parents, school figures, middlemen, and the rest. Cheating and bribery are the major criminal elements, but the fake charities, financial reporting, and fraudulent tax deductions are the core of the case.
And like a lot of crimes------Al Capone comes to mind, jailed for tax evasion, not his actual crimes-----
It's what they did before and after the commission of the crime that should be examined.
<><> did they falsify official documents?
<><> how did they handle the money exchange on their income tax returns?
<><> how did the bribees handle the exchange of money?
<><> did the latter falsify documents, as well?

"Conservatives Are Now Blaming the College Scam Scandal on Affirmative Action [??? emphasis added]"
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponents Argument
President Thomas Jefferson and Justice Joseph Story had indicated that the states would first need to appropriately amend the Constitution to give the feds the specific power to regulate, make policy, tax and spend for INTRAstate schooling purposes, something that the states have never done.
"The power to regulate manufactures, not having been confided to congress, they have no more right to act upon it, than they have to interfere with the systems of education, the poor laws, or the road laws, of the states [emphasis added]. Congress is empowered to lay taxes for revenue, it is true; but there is no power to encourage, protect, or meddle with manufactures." Joseph Story, Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1, Commentaries on the Constitution 2
Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States. Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Since post-FDR era schools evidently arent teaching students about the feds constitutionally limited powers as the Founding States had intended for those powers to be understood, what we are seeing is the following.
Misguided, constitutionally low-information university communities (research, faculty, students, et al) are trading their votes for post-17th Amendment ratification, constitutionally indefensible federal funding for schooling purposes.
The states need to eliminate the unconstitutional middleman, the corrupt feds, from "helping" to manage state revenues by putting stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, making such a change permanent by repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.
Patriots need to elect a new patriot Congress in the 2020 elections that will not only promise to support PDJT's vision for MAGA, but will also promise to put a stop to unconstitutional federal taxes, taxes that Congress cannot justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, the power to tax and spend for intrastate schooling purposes not listed among those powers.
MAGA!

Affirmative Action is a huge part of the problem. It’s cut down on seats for applicants who might otherwise be qualified.
Her senior thesis is said to be less than stellar...more about her race obsession and semi-illiterate .....an F in the real world.
Affirmative action must end. It is yet more legislation from the courts.

Dershowitz had a decent article on this. He says that the roots of the problem are much deeper than a single outfit which rigged admissions.
For instance, Dershowitz points out that cheating to get a kid into a school when they are not qualified wouldn’t work if the schools actually held students to standards once they were admitted. He faults the “everybody succeeds” policies of the schools as one of the root causes. These policies also heavily dilutes the value of the degrees they award.
