The $1.1 billion spent to repair Oroville Dam is failing as water is seeping through the rebuilt spillway threatens new mass evacuations over the risk of the dam collapsing.
According to national dam expert Scott Cahill of Watershed Services of Ohio, Oroville Dam is on the same failure track as in 2017, with visible water seepage trickling from the foot of the dam and dozens of points along the dam's principal spillway. Cahill warns that warming temperatures magnified by precipitation is a growing threat to the dam.
American Thinker reported on March 1 that the Sierra snow pack was at a record 113 inches, but another 44 inches fell in the next 10 days. With temperatures spiking this week to 75 degrees in the valleys and 41 degrees in the high mountains, dam inflows are running twice the outflows, and the water levels rose from 800 to 839 feet.

Obviously you do not live downstream from the Oroville spillway.
Send Gavin Newsom up there.
He can put his head in a hole with Jerry Brown.
Theres no water coming out there.
I realize this is the title the American Thinker gave it, but it is misleading. It makes it sound like the dam collapsed and flood water is going downstream.

Should read 100 acre-feet/sec.

Thanks
As a resident of another state, this is the kind of thing that I would be willing to use Federal funds, for, but...I have to admit, the state being a thorn in the side of nearly everything, and forcing their leftist ideology on the rest of us with their 9th circuit court decisions and sanctuary state crap makes me less willing.
It isn’t just that they do those things, it is the overt arrogance and telling the rest of the country to pound sand while they have their hand out with a arrogant smile on their faces.
That does irritate me to no end.

The dam is rock fill. It cannoy “collapse,” but it could be seriously damaged, causing as much as 1/4 of its stored capacity to spill in a short time.
Mmm, Billie Joe.
As a conservative behind enemy lines myself, my heart goes out to those non-leftist citizens in California who see their state being dismantled in front of their eyes.
Here we all thought LA would be washed away by the ocean in a quake.
No one gave a dam and now it looks like they may be washed into the ocean instead.
They were gonna secede. And put up walls around their borders with the other states.
“Theres no water coming out there.”
Yet.
Sounds like this might be an interesting link to keep handy & viewing.
Nope this is a long, well-known problem that already had a severe failure once before in recent history.
Anything good happens - they credit libtards with
Anything bad happens - Trumps fault, guns fault, enemy du jour’s fault
.
It’ll never make it to the ocean!
The aluvium will make a new dam between Rio Vista and Antioch, and fill the delta with silt.
SMH
1. Observations of "seepage" at the dam toe not necessarily represents seepage under the dam. Mostly likely without examining piezometer data, is that this is colluvial seepage from downstream materials.
2. The article shows weepage in the chute. You cannot make conclusive determinations from a photo taken across the river. That is the same mistake DWR made.
All in all, this 'expert' makes claims absent physical examination of the site. Dangerous to do - especially when the title threatens new "evacuations" and infers such evacuations are pending. Sad reporting and analysis
R3member when America could build a dam that didn’t fail?
Well lets just see how it plays out.
Check out his series of Dam videos here in this playlist.
Anything else is probably just political rhetoric and fear mongering.
Pay it no mind.
