The $1.1 billion spent to repair Oroville Dam is failing as water is seeping through the rebuilt spillway threatens new mass evacuations over the risk of the dam collapsing.
According to national dam expert Scott Cahill of Watershed Services of Ohio, Oroville Dam is on the same failure track as in 2017, with visible water seepage trickling from the foot of the dam and dozens of points along the dam's principal spillway. Cahill warns that warming temperatures magnified by precipitation is a growing threat to the dam.
American Thinker reported on March 1 that the Sierra snow pack was at a record 113 inches, but another 44 inches fell in the next 10 days. With temperatures spiking this week to 75 degrees in the valleys and 41 degrees in the high mountains, dam inflows are running twice the outflows, and the water levels rose from 800 to 839 feet.

Yeah...I was there. As far as I know these days, the spiilway has been re-built and the faceing of the emergency spillway has been cleared of trees and brush and surfaced with concrete as far as I can tell by the pictures. Work is still being done. In fact the contractors up there have a rather permanent internet link up there...Beamed up from downtown.
I have checked the local paper to see if there are any concerns regarding the Spring melt:
From the local rag on March 1st. : OROVILLE The state Department of Water Resources is increasing releases from the Hyatt Powerplant with weather forecasts and water storage in mind.
Releases from the powerplant are being ramped up from 1,750 cubic feet per second to 5,000 cfs. Lake Oroville currently sits at 801 feet and 10-day projections show it rising to 830 feet by March 11. The reservoir is at 62 percent of total capacity.
The department has said use of the Oroville Dam spillway is unlikely; however, the department is preparing in case its use becomes necessary. The spillway can be utilized once water reaches its gates at 813 feet.
DWR spokeswoman Erin Mellon said the media and public would be updated if conditions and plans changed substantially, including if and when the newly reconstructed spillway is used.
“Oh dear, those brilliant, clever Californians. So
much smarter than everyone else.”
......so says a poster who flies the flag of
New York, the native state of so many of the
libtards who migrated west and started the
ruination of California. It’s bad enough when
FReepers from around the country post as if Cali
is devoid of any conservatives. When such a post
comes from NY it is just a bad joke.

FEED IS OFFLINE. Wonder why ?
“A CA problem they will want all 57 states to pick up tab.”
Okay, I have seen all I can stand of the 57 states thing. I must rise in defense of our great American or Kenyan or whatever kind of president he used to was. He clearly said that he had VISITED 57 states and had one MORE to go to and that his staff would not let him go to the remaining two so it is clear the he is well aware that there are SIXTY American states, NOT 57. I hope this clears the matter up for all you who can’t seem to understand this. Of course I realize that I am probably being too harsh considering that cloud that follows you everywhere, it probably obscures what is really going on around you.
The feather river produces several million acre feet of water per year.
.
Rock fill is “collapsed” already.
Maybe they can direct the flood waters to flush the sheite filled streets of once beautiful San Francisco.
Juan provides the latest -
Over a hundred years of “Water Politics”. It seems difficult to f0rk this up as much as the state/private and federal interests have done.
Yea but they cheaped out on the first spillway. The design was way under speced.
.
Moonbeam special!
Thanks for the link.
After watching Juan’s video, I know the REAL situation at Oroville as of today.
No buts about it, they cheaped out on the 1st spillway and the 1st emergency spillway.
As measured downstream at Aswan.

They had 2 years to fix this near catastrophic situation and they didnt ??!!
We all watched the near failure in 2017. They had two years to remedy it.
