The elected official getting most of the blame for Amazon’s decision not to open a new headquarters in Queens is Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, according to a poll released Monday.
The Siena College poll asked New York state voters who was the “hero”, “villain” or “role player” in the Amazon debacle and Ocasio-Cortez led the pack.
Thirty-eight percent identified the freshman congresswoman as the biggest villain while only 12 percent called her a hero.
By comparison, 34 percent called local activists the chief villain; 29 percent Mayor de Blasio; 28 percent Gov. Cuomo; 26 percent Amazon itself; 21 percent the state Senate and 17 percent labor unions.
“Who do New Yorkers blame? Well, there’s certainly blame enough to go around … However, voters say the biggest villain was Rep. Alexandria Ocasio- Cortez,” said pollster Steven Greenberg.
“Amazon itself was seen as the biggest villain among Democrats, but Republicans and independents had Ocasio-Cortez as far and away the largest villain, followed by the local Queens activists.”
Voters overwhelmingly viewed Amazon’s decision to back out of its deal as a blow to the state.
Sixty seven-percent said the withdrawal was “bad” for New York, while only 21 percent said it was “good,” the Siena College Poll found.
Following the Amazon fiasco, more voters believe New York State government — now completely controlled by Democrats in the governorship and Senate and Assembly — is more hostile to business.
A staggering 67 percent of voters agreed with the statements that the current politics of state government is making it harder for businesses in New York to be successful, while only 26 percent disagreed. Even 53 percent of Democrats agreed with the statement.
Moreover, 51 percent of voters now believe New York is moving too far to the political left, while 36 percent disagreed.

The real villains are two members of the state legislature who represent districts in the area where the Amazon site was to be built. They were strong supporters of the HQ2 application up front. The NY State and NY City governments never would have put together an incentive package for Amazon without the support of these two. But these two dopes later became traitors under local pressure from labor unions, and AOC simply saw an opportunity to become a local rabble-rouser without even thinking about what the hell was going on. LOL.

She’s going down, down, down, down...
Maybe she’ll keep her district.
But the people here making it sound like her support is countrywide even among dems, should look at her approval numbers.
Too many are drinking the msm kool aid.
It’s GREAT that the insane faction of the party loves her.
Now the dem presidential contenders are locked into making a choice.
the completely insane vote, or the less insane vote.
Neither alone is enough to win.
It took $3.5 billion in tax abatements and relief from the most onerous of the byzantine rules and regulations for a company as big and sophisticated as Amazon to be lured into New York. Imagine less sophisticated investors and capitalist entrepreneurs. They don’t even try to locate in what should be an ideal financial, geographic and cultural location. Now business knows it must deal with layers of petty politicians, community groups and insiders. Face it. New York is pathetically liberal and the business environment is horrific. Productive people look to invest and move elsewhere.
This box of rocks doesn't need to worry about Republicans. Her real adversaries are Democrats. You can bet that there's been more than a few discussions among Democrat leaders about the train wreck she is causing.
Either you'll start to see her rhetoric soften and become more "logical" (in Democrat terms), or she'll be setup to fall in 2020.
And Republicans won't have anything to do with it...

She’s crossed pelosi, whom many here underestimate in her viciousness and yes, to a certain degree, guile. She learned a few tricks from her pop’s ties to the Sicilian Mafia
And Diane in the senate. Who we KNOW is vicious and vindictive.
I have read the guy who took her seat is working to take it back. He might win.
Sadly occassional-cortex will stay a celebrity after she is primaried. I see her on the view and other similar tripe.

A hero the really insane left and a zero to everyone else.
Cuomo and Deblasio cant stand her. She has sworn enemies in the Mayor and the Govenor.
Just wait until she needs their help.

Stop voting for democrats!

This was a case of “keep your mouth closed, people will think you a fool. Open your mouth and they will know you are one.”
