WASHINGTON, D.C. Today, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) released the following statement after voting to disapprove of the national emergency declaration regarding the border:
I stand with President Trump on the need for a border wall and stronger border security, but the Constitution clearly states that money cannot be spent unless Congress has passed a law to do so.

Fuhget you, Rand.
Rand is too bipolar for words.
(Someone no one should ever want in the same fox hole.)
I feel the same. Very disappointed in him.
You’d be better off with Ayn.
KMA Spanky.
Pres, should frame the Wall as a building infrastructure government program.
Call it the WWW project. Wall Wall Wall.
2016 Republican primary popular votes | |
---|---|
Donald J. Trump | 14,015,993 |
Rand Paul | 66,788 |
Donald J. Trump for President | 1,202,971 |
Rand Paul for U.S. Senate | 1,090,177 |
Rand Paul is taking a principled stand. The others just want to make sure their monthly check from the cartel bosses clears OK.
I’m stealing that!
I’m only mildly upset. This was a symbolic vote because they did not have the votes to override a veto. If they don’t want a President to have these powers they are just going to have to pass a repeal of a power already granted.
He is a liar. Did this nitwit ever object when Bush and Obama passed dozens of their emergency bills? No.
I think the Congress can lower the President’s authority whenever they can find the votes, as it stands, the purpose of giving the executive this authority is for situations that require action that is needed faster than Congress can reasonably act. Such as when we are struck without warning.
Congress has shown that for one reason or another, they are unable to act and I would say that makes this the type of emergency that Congress had in mind when they passed the law.
And don’t forget the this is money that Congress has in fact appropriated, so the President is not usurping congressional power of the purse, again — I believe the court will find this entirely within the pages of the constitution.
DO NOT TRUST RAND PAUL!!!
Hes a lunatic like his father before him!

FOAD, Rand. Like your father before you, you think the US Constitution is a suicide pact.
The mods will never see that because you didn't address it to them.
Rand, take a hike!
The emergency act may be a bogus law, but it a law. Take it to the Supreme Court and get it overthrown. We have a crises on the border, the Congress won’t give the money necessary to protect, the President has every right to get the money to do so.
Congress also passed The Secure Fence Act of 2006, but so what? Laws and the Constitution mean nothing to our political elites. They do what they want and ignore the rest.
The President has every legal and constitutional authority to do what he's doing, but the globalist elites and their minions in Congress and the media don't care. They will bulldoze their way through anything to stop him from protecting our country.
We need several million armed patriots to March on DC , now.
