Spooky?
The AC-130J Ghostrider gunship is officially the most lethal aircraft in Air Force Special Operations Commands inventory.

OK, then promptly demonstrate its capabilities in a live engagement so we can judge for ourselves.
Is it still called “Puff, the Magic Dragon?”
Lets wrap this baby up, Folks! Less the $2k to go!
Unless we start using it to defend the country, at the border, there is no use in spending the money for these weapons.
I did an architectural project for the maintenance group who serviced the AC130’s at Hurlburt Field in the Florida Panhandle. As a reward for a job well done, I was allowed to ride as an observer on a live-fire night exercise. Amazing experience. I don’t think I stopped smiling for a month. I am smiling right now 20 years later just thinking about it.
Eventually that aircraft will be just as lethal and fly without pilots. Other long range aircraft will also be pilotless and instead of bombs will launch all sorts of drones. Future battlefields will be directed by young technosavy people in bunkers with joysticks behind consoles. The battles will resemble computer games but will be very real.
The stripped out the 40mm gun and the 25mm, and replaced the with a single 30mm.
A new Spooky
Maverick: Tower, this is Ghost rider requesting a flyby.
Air Boss Johnson: That’s a negative Ghost rider, the pattern is full.
BUMP
A-10’s big brother? I dig those props.. Sneaky quiet?
Deploy it to the no go zones in the US
However, hard to believe that a couple terrorists with shoulder fired SAMs can't put it face first into the dirt.
It's my understanding that USA troops now have line-of-sight missile aiming goggles that are impervious to normal missile defense systems.
In other words, the missile flies directly at the target the goggles are staring at, regardless of flares, chaff, or electronic counter-measures.
PING!
The day of SpecOps is drawing to a close.
The theory is wrong.
If they can’t beat the Taliban, they can’t beat anybody. We need an army and a navy that can beat China in a stand up fight, so we don’t have to have one.
Lets see Antifa deal with this gunship when the Civil War starts.
This article made me realize something. I have not seen one in years.
For maybe 20 years I would regularly hear an AC-130 fly around this area. It would arrive around dusk and go around for a while then go away.
I live NE of Eglin and NW of Tyndall but never see planes from either one. I guess I am just not in their flying areas. The Specters were different tho and every now and then I would see one in the daytime. Took lots of photos.
