MAGAPHOBIA: Hotel Rejects Reservation Request After Learning Triple-Amputee Veteran Brian Kolfage, Steve Bannon and Sheriff Clarke Were Included
==================================================================
Steve Bannon, Purple Heart recipient triple-amputee veteran Brian Kolfage and Sheriff Clarke will be traveling to Detroit next week for a town hall event that was organized by We Build the Wall.
Kolfage, Bannon, Sheriff Clarke and crew were recommended they stay at the Detroit Foundation Hotel because of the close proximity to the Cobo Center where the town hall will be held next Thursday.
The group sales staffer from the hotel called Kolfages staffer eager to assist them with their event and accommodations needs on Friday morning, according to Kolfage.
Kolfages staffer told the hotel they needed 23 rooms for two nights from March 13th-15th.
The hotel salesperson replied that they had rooms available and offered the group the rate of 186.00 per room per night a discount from the online single person only reservation price of $250- per night.
Brian Kolfage told this reporter that he accepted the offer immediately.
The hotel salesperson then asked for an email address to send a credit card authorization form and a list of names.
In a March 8th email obtained by The Gateway Pundit, a Detroit Foundation Hotel employee is happy to accommodate Brian Kolfage and his crew. The employee sounds enthusiastic to make the sale and asks Brian Kolfage for the names of the guests and payment information. (screenshot of the email below)
About an hour after Brian Kolfage sent the hotel salesperson the list of names, he received an email back from the hotel staffer letting him know they decided to withdraw the group offer.
In an email obtained by The Gateway Pundit, the hotel staffer says, Thanks so much for taking the time to send over this information. After reviewing our hotels position, unfortunately we are going to have to withdraw our group offer for this program. We are in a bit of a tough spot at the moment, and feel its best to walk away.
Your guests are more than welcome to book on their own through our website, but we cannot place a group offer, the hotel staffer wrote in an email to Brian Kolfage. (screenshot below)
In other words, Brian Kolfage and his crew would have to pay the hotel thousands of more dollars to stay there just because they are Trump supporters.
Brian Kolfage told The Gateway Pundit that the Detroit Foundation Hotel is perhaps being cautious about having high profile Trump supporters stay at the hotel since they are being sued by a former staffer who alleges the hotels management is plagued by rampant racism.
Kolfage says however he is not going to back down and may file a lawsuit against the hotel for discriminating against his group for being Trump supporters.
I was truly shocked that I had to inform our Angel families whose sons were both murdered by illegal aliens that they were not welcome to stay at the Foundation Hotel in Detroit. I grew up in this area, and I gave three limbs for the freedom of our citizens, this is not what I fought for, this is not acceptable! Brian Kolfage told The Gateway Pundit. This hotel has a track record with discrimination and African Americans have filed a lawsuit against them 2 months ago, and now we are being advised by our general counsel to file a discrimination lawsuit. Were going to stand up for everyones rights in this country regardless of skin color and political opinion.
The Foundation Hotel Management should be ashamed of their actions and I hope the citizens of Detroit realize that racism and discrimination should not be tolerated especially after what Detroit has been through over the past century, Brian Kolfage added.
Sheriff Clarke told The Gateway Pundit the Detroit Foundation Hotel is engaging in the practice of political Jim Crow laws.
The Detroit Foundation Hotel should hang its head in shame, Sheriff Clarke told The Gateway Pundit. They are engaging in the practice of political Jim Crow laws where instead of refusing to do business with people based on one c-word, color of their skin, they are refusing to do business with people based on another c-word, their conservative values.
Magaphobia is a real problem in the US.
Trump supporters are regularly discriminated against, harassed, beaten and threatened by rabid leftists for the crime of supporting President Trump and strong borders. It must stop.
Editors note: The town hall was originally supposed to be held at the First Baptist Church in Warren, MI, but was changed to the Cobo Center to accommodate more people.
ODD THAT THEY WOULD USE THE PHRASE, "JUST WALK AWAY" TO A TRIPLE AMPUTEE VETERAN......................
Nice, big fat discrimination suit against the handicapped. I can’t wait to see The Detroit Foundation Hotel under new management and renamed The Steve Bannon Hotel.
This is what happens when retards manage your business.
I'm giving you what they just told me:
"Front Desk
We appreciate your concerns and want to ensure they are relayed properly. We have a representative standing by to field questions regarding the matter. Her name is Addie Benge and she can be reached at 201-704-9968."
If it is established that one or more of the employees had a laugh or snicker over the use of the phrase a jury could well find that alone worth a few extra million.
Makes you wonder if they hotel views hosting a MAGA group as a liability, with relation to their own staff.
From the hotel’s description, it sounds very artsy-fartsy, we’re-all-one-community, etc...
Maybe they were worried about how their staff would react to the enemy inside the gates.
OK, I have an issue with the triple amputee claiming this is not what he fought for. It is indeed what he fought for (freedom of expression, free speech, freedom of association).
Is the hotel employer/employee’s response reprehensible on the grounds that it appears discriminatory based on someone else’s chosen expression or political affiliation? Sure, it does seem that way. However, they (hotel management or employees) should be free to express themselves just as anyone else should be, especially about politics. They should not expect to be free from the ramifications of their choice (bad publicity, boycotts or loss of revenue, and the like).
If the guy thinks he has a discrimination case and can prove it and get a settlement, well he should file one and hopefully win. I just don’t see how this should be any different than any other case where we would advocate for a business owner to be able to freely associate or not based on religious grounds (a certain CO bake shop comes to mind here) or just about any other reason imaginable.
OK everyone, flame away.
I think this would definitely fall under the ‘Public Accommodations’ category.
Where a bakery has to actually create and make something, using labor and materials to do so, a hotelier simply has to allow you to rent their accommodations.
If the hotel can state that their reason for their withdrawal of the presented offer, after finding out who it was for, was for some other reasons that are not covered by various laws, then they can win...................
Kolfage should tell them he’s queer and he wants them to bake him a cake...
And he self identifies as a black woman.....................
They didn’t decline to provide accommodations though, they declined to provide a reduced rate for said accommodations.
Which kinda tells you they couldn’t outright refuse them, but instead raised the proffered price to get the customer to take their business elsewhere..........................
Near as I can tell it’s all perfectly legal and (at least in their eyes) reasonable. There are quite a few people that could argue either way about the reasonableness of it all, but they are within their rights to change terms prior to signing a contract or accepting any payment.
These TOWN HALLS are PRE-SCHEDULED and BOOKED. They have been advertised for weeks.
