March 7 (UPI) -- Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine on Thursday delayed the executions of three men on death row and asked corrections officials to review alternative methods of lethal injection after a federal judge compared the state's current process to waterboarding.
The order came after Magistrate Judge Michael Merz issued a reprieve of execution for Warren Henness in January. The judge said Ohio's three-drug protocol for lethal injection would likely cause Henness "severe pain and needless suffering."
Ohio was one of several states to alter the traditional drug protocol it used for decades in lethal injections after European drug companies refused to sell pentobarbital, commonly used in executions, over ethical concerns. The state began using midazolam, a sedative, in executions in 2017.

Have the perp sit in a room with his favorite car. Start the engine. Check back in 30 minutes. The price - maybe a gallon of gas.

Well the time frame of suffering should be considered here.
Several minutes? Maybe, cause who knows if they feel pain.
It’s not going to be a systemic and regular abuse.
Unless they do it wrong.

In support of marijuana laws (which I’m sure this judge happily makes use of) hemp rope will do just as well and not pollute the earth.

IIRC a Federal Court, having been presented with just such a challenge ("cruel and unusual"),recently approved a particular state's method of execution...that is,approved the drug or drugs that that state wanted to use. Why can't that same protocol be used nationwide?
What drugs were used to put down McVeigh???

Or how about having him swim Lake Erie with an anchor around his neck?

Just how would this justice know?
In the interest of judicial honesty, this honor should be waterborded, and then given a lethal injection, after which time his new ruling will be beyond reproach or question of it's truthful validity.

Having had several surgical procedures in my life...hip replacements and colonoscopies...I can attest to the fact that I didn't feel a damn thing during any of them.If they wanted to do so I assume that the doctors/nurses could have simply doubled...tripled...quadrupled the doses and put me to sleep permanently.
Maybe that's the method that should be used...quadruple the dose of drugs given for a hip replacement.

The BEEF industry knows all about painless death.
Surely the courts could approve IT'S system!
...
Dr. Grandin is a best-selling author, and her Animal Welfare Audit is the standard in the industry. Half of the cattle in the United States and Canada are now handled by equipment Grandin designed. Some of the nations largest beef servers and suppliers McDonalds, Wendys, Burger King, Cargill, Tyson pass the points of her audit: at least 95 percent of animals stunned on the first shot (usually with a captive-bolt gun that shoots a steel bolt into the head). No more than 1 percent falling. No more than 3 percent mooing. No more than 25 percent being hit with an electric prod. At this point, she says, You can take someone right to the stunner line at one of the biggest slaughterhouses in the world, and theyll approve of what they see.

How does that comparison even make sense? People have no idea how idiotic these judges are. Picture any arrogant liberal you know and then put their power and obnoxiousness on steroids.

I have had numerous dogs euthanized in my 76 yrs and pentobarbital was used for the lqst3 as far as I know and possibly for the others.
Each was euthanized at my home and the time between the injection and confirmation of death was about 30 seconds. My pet was first given a mild tranquilizer and after a minute or so she laid down. The drug was injected, she sort of sighed and in seconds it was over.
What exactly are the concerns about using this drug on humans?
