I try to teach Theory, Technique, and Artistry equally, but some kids just want to play fast (technique) and some just want to be “dramatic” (Artistry), and most would like to ditch Theory entirely.

However, there is an old joke:

“How to you get a Rock Guitarist to slow down?

Hmm, have to go find someone’s Forsythia bush. LOL
But it’s good to know.

I would think anyone wanting to learn music, would want to learn those.

One of the reasons to keep some Forsythia around. But you have to fight them in hand to hand combat in a wet warm summer to keep them in line.

We have a bible school on Thursday nights between 7-8. Its a beautiful night here tonight.

We have a small yard, which is fenced in so I don’t want any bushes or plants that I have to mow around. Plus, two dogs.

When weather improves, I’ll start looking around the neighborhood when Eada and I go for our walks.

I so dislike it getting dark so early.

The only thing I don't like about October, my favorite month. The weather is wonderful, the colors are beautiful, the best sports season, and it's my birthday month. :)

But the downside is that the days are too short, the sun sets too soon.

Well, the problem arises when someone is naturally talented and wants to just PLAY. Their ears and fingers already know what to do, so why should they have to slow down and let their EYES catch up?

That was my problem growing up, so now I am very careful about trying to make THEORY Interesting!
