Mrs. H did not like the cold. She was very sensitive to it. Even though I’m older I still have some tolerance for cold, and can last six hours in the tree stand during deer season. But given a choice between 90 degrees and 40 degrees and rain, the 90 degree day wins hands down.

Normally by this time of year I’m putting down the 1st dose of fertilizer with crabgrass preventer. But with highs this week that didn’t break freezing for four days, it will be a while yet. My yard is frozen like concrete.

I'm not partial to temps below 32. Like you I prefer warmer days.

Normally by this time of year I’m putting down the 1st dose of fertilizer with crabgrass preventer. But with highs this week that didn’t break freezing for four days, it will be a while yet. My yard is frozen like concrete.

I bough a bag of weed-n-feed early this week, hoping to fix bald spots, but our yard is like concrete too. Let me know when you put yours down, so I can do mine ;)

The rule of thumb is you put down the first dose when the Forsythia start to bloom. Or when the soil temp reaches a stable 55 degrees.

So I hear.
