Mental note. Don’t move to Utah.
I’m Catholic and I didn’t know there were any there.
I thought it was like a rule or something :
But I bet Utah’s full of great folks.
Last thing they need is an Italian AND a Catholic moving in :)
I bet this ‘teacher’ is not a Utahn..................
We have about 325,000 Catholics in Utah. We are about 8% of the population, higher than in some other states in the south). We have about 3,500 members of the Knights of Columbus here and are strong in our faith. Roughly 2/3 of the Catholics are Latino and they are generally wonderful people, with a strong, active faith. I love being a Catholic in Utah.
One of my best friends just finished his 6 years as Bishop of his Mormon ward. Yes, it is harder for kids than adults.
Quite a few, actually. The Catholic presence has been growing quite fast. There's a cathedral in Salt Lake, I know.
The Mormons I know there don't seem particularly anti-Catholic. But maybe they wouldn't, around me . . .
Seriously, in the country at large, a big swath of Mormons view serious Catholics as allies in the culture war.
