Sen. Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, said Wednesday that she was raped in the Air Force by a superior officer.
The Arizona Republican, a 26-year military veteran, made the disclosure at a Senate hearing on the armed services' efforts to prevent sexual assaults and improve the response when they occur.
McSally said she did not report being sexually assaulted because she did not trust the system, and she said she was ashamed and confused. McSally did not name the officer who she says raped her.
"I stayed silent for many years, but later in my career, as the military grappled with the scandals, and their wholly inadequate responses, I felt the need to let some people know I too was a survivor," she said,

Yes, it is terrible. But many of us cried out that this is what will happen when they started placing women in combat arms units - a male dominated occupation, men whose libido is always on edge because life is always on edge. A few years ago there was a published report about this very subject and they even included statements from wives of military combat veterans who all stated that in those times their husband’s harmones were intensified, or words to that effect. There was also an article, I think in the Virginia Pilot about the large number of female sailors sent home from deployed aircraft carriers pregnant. Some women had no idea as to who the father was. Women in combat arms is just wrong at every level.
The more I think about this, the more convinced I become that shes lying. If she was capable of competing at the highest levels to get to the position of fighter pilot, she wouldnt have hesitated then or now to call out her rapist.
This provides some ammunition to the claim that perhaps she did a Kamala Harris to get to the top.
Sorry but unless she specifies exactly who it was that raped her and to explain the whole episode in detail, and bring charges, Im going to have to assume shes lying.
What is the SOL on rape? And why now make an announcement?
Most men just suck it up. There are worse things.
Exactly! What was is not NOW.
What’s it called, a Court of Inquiry?
I dont know if this did happen and I dont know if it didnt but damn irresponsible of McSally to throw this out there. I didnt attend the Zoo at the same time McSally did, she graduated the year before I got there, but shes an unlikeable sort and one of the reasons theres still so much resentment in the ranks towards female officers. Shes had every advantage the system could give her, and thinks that entitles her to not only a political career, but to pull crap like this. Either name names, file a report or shut up. Otherwise its just more grandstanding from another female politician.
Most men don’t just suck up ass raping.
I could introduce you to a few - from church rapings to military rapings.
Way more common than you think.
Arizona is a voter ID state
+++++1
Don't know. Don't care. (much)
Did it even happen? How can we know?
“But heres the thing. By not naming names, McSally has just smeared every superior officer who had ever worked with her.”
Precisely, which means while one of them raped her, she ended up raping all of them.
And none of them can do anything about it.
The GOP. Can’t stand’em.
Check the state laws. They had to negotiate voting laws under the obumber administration. I don’t have the articles handy, but my understanding is the laws state specifically you cannot turn away an illegal alien from voting in a state election. It just so happens that the state and federal elections are on the same ballot. And you are not allowed to look at someones completed ballot to verify they did not vote in a federal election.
BTW, is there enough meat on a toad’s ribs to meaningfully barbecue it?
#fake
U S Sen McSally said the reason she didn’t report it at the time was because she didn’t trust the system. I can understand.
So two AZ senators - one wears a miniskirt and boots in the Senate, and the other is a #MeToo.

Makes you almost wish for the old days of Juan McCain.
Well, no. Not really. Not at all.
Her utter disregard for the lives and reputations of the dozens of officers in her command structure who didn't harm her is contemptible.
