Sen. Martha McSally, the first female fighter pilot to fly in combat, said Wednesday that she was raped in the Air Force by a superior officer.
The Arizona Republican, a 26-year military veteran, made the disclosure at a Senate hearing on the armed services' efforts to prevent sexual assaults and improve the response when they occur.
McSally said she did not report being sexually assaulted because she did not trust the system, and she said she was ashamed and confused. McSally did not name the officer who she says raped her.
"I stayed silent for many years, but later in my career, as the military grappled with the scandals, and their wholly inadequate responses, I felt the need to let some people know I too was a survivor," she said,

Says she was raped by superior officer but won’t name names.
Very sceptical.
So she lets a rapist roam the Halls of the Air Force, free to abuse other young women.
Not exactly a “Profile In Courage”, now is she?
Was it a male or female? I wonder.
Good reason why sexually integrating the Armed Forces was a bad idea and furthermore why female NeverTrumper “Senators” tend to be full of crap!
If she names her rapist, then we may find out that she was dating him for a while illicitly. And then we may also see how he helped her career. She’s just another effing politician
Yes, they do use tailhooks.
They just don't offer free leg shavings.
Rumor in our family
has it that my other(foster) brother Mike
was serially abused by his superior (female) officer
when he was in the Air Force
must have been in the early 70’s
Scared him for life.

Did she fly in combat missions while she was “ashamed and confused”? Seems very probable.
If true, mcsally had a serious lack of judgement and failed to give due consideration to the lives of fellow servicemen, putting them unknowingly in grave danger.
Not ‘trusting the system’ is no excuse for putting lives unnecessarily in danger and expensive jets in jeopardy.
If it is not true, and without proof or corroborating evidence, it is questionable. #NoMoreBlasey-Fords.
People lie for many reasons.
Not buying it.
McSally is proving herself day by day of being another McCain. She seems to cherish the Victim mantle for any issue that pops up.
This nonsense about women being every bit as good as men in the military and combat can not coexist with the claims of abuse and victimhood they are making, like McSally.
If feminists like McSally feel they are defenseless little damsels in the US military, what the hell do they think is going to happen to them against enemies like a modern Wehrmacht, or Red Army, or Mongol horde, or Viking raider, or Islamist Jihadis?
McSally needs to be primaried out or join the democrats. The only game she’s good for is being a media queen. First female combat pilot - and she can’t face up to some stateside officer - if there ever was one.
Her sex life of the 90s I’m sure it’s fascinating, did she happen to say anything about the Border today? Or about supporting Trump’s efforts to secure our nation?
I thought not
Could not STAND her when she was campaigning. Came across like a climber and a phony.
Knowing how things worked back then, Im rather sure that Sen. McSally is telling the truth. And perhaps she doesnt want to name names without proof.
Really? That’s how things worked Post Tailhook? I realize it was a different branch but I find that surprising because the Tailhook hysteria approached metoo levels. I would think she would have got a medal and promotion for making that charge.
I can understand why she didn’t name him. It would create a never ending sideshow and possibly lawsuits. She needs to focus on her election.

While travelling through Washington DC last year my smart phone suddenly blew up with McSally for Senate ads. It was really, really odd. She must have been heavily fundraising inside the beltway.
So two AZ senators - one wears a miniskirt and boots in the Senate, and the other is a #MeToo.
Great points. Almost forgot about the suit against the DOD, which resulted in her appearance on 60 Minutes and in the opportunity to meet several high-ranking officials, including two Defense Secretaries.
Also, this report claims she’s a ‘26 year military veteran’, when she has only 22 years of commissioned service. They’re obviously counting her four years at the USAF Academy.
Yeah, okay, I see it, doesn’t mean they know what to do with it...
Not naming her attacker probably leaves 150 men having to explain to their wife that they are not the rapist. It also makes it impossible to test her claim. Ie, nobody can show up with pictures of her snuggled up with that man. No other officers can come forward to say she dated him for a year and a half on the down low. And also yes it does shield her from lawsuits, the man who she accuses may very well demanded that she prove it in court. She learned well from blasey Ford, don’t name your rapist then nobody can attack your story. She’s a snail, a typical politician worm. Lowest form of life. And she’s against the border wall
Men are getting raped too. Just not getting any press. And it won’t either.
