An ex-adviser to President Trump has signaled he and as many as four others will not cooperate with the House Judiciary Committee's sweeping demand for documents.

Michael Caputo, a former aide with the campaign who will be interviewed on Fox News’ “The Daily Briefing with Dana Perino” on Wednesday afternoon, has already told the committee he does not have any relevant records and that he “does not plan to testify in front of the panel,” according to the Washington Post.

Caputo has also started off talks with four other people linked to the president who received a request from the committee to form a “joint strategy of resisting requests,” the Post reports.

I heard Sean Spicer said he will cooperate.

By everyone. Both parties, all media. And to them, Trump’s brashness does not inspire confidence.

Dem Congress will make criminal referrals and we will have election season jackbooted FBI raids on these Trump supporters. This is where this is headed. Guaranteed.

Everyone targeted by these anti-Trump congressional committees should refuse to comply in any form or fashion. Furthermore, the republicans on the committees should refuse to participate in the congressional abuse of power. There’s strength in numbers.

Well, they could hold him in contempt of Congress.

They did that to Eric Holder, and it almost ruined his lunch that day.

Congress can certainly subpoena but would have to refer to the DOJ to file criminal charges. Would Barr cooperate? I don’t know.

Why the hell would anyone who is or was in any way associated with President Trump or the Trump campaign voluntarily cooperate with the Democrats?

Refuse to voluntarily testify before Congress. If you are subpoenaed to testify then invoke your rights under the 5th Amendment. Also, refuse to talk to anyone at the FBI or any other federal investigative authority.

No one has a perfect memory. If you are a democrat and you blatantly lie under oath it is OK. If you are in any way affiliated with Trump and you forget a single fact or make a single misstatement you can count on being indicted for a process crime.

All of them should not cooperate on this fishing expedition. Wait until subpoenaed and go before the house and either say I don’t recall or I’m taking the Fifth.

“In such cases, to be overturned so much, clearly such judges are misapplying the law. They should be removed if they misapply the law so often.”

Au Contrare Dilbert

They are wantonly subverting the law, because of the blatancy with which they do it. They all know what the Constitution says, they just prefer to subvert it. Therefore, since they swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution,” they are derelict in their duty and should be removed for cause.

They need to say they turned all their records to Mueller and just don’t have anything left to give.

Or... Just use Hillary’s method and say “I do not recall”.

Why would anyone? If they can’t find anything about “collusion” they’ll make something up or get you on a process crime.

POINTS TO PONDER——famed attorney Alan Dershowitz warned that House Democrats may have gone “too far”
and could face lawsuits for allegedly abusing their oversight powers.

DERSH ON HANNITY: “Congress has a legitimate oversight function but it can’t go too far. It can’t use oversight,
(designed to help get legislation passed), in order to prevent a president from finishing out his terms.

They’re interfering with the executive branch if they do so.”

“A balance has to be struck between the legitimate function of Congress to investigate.
The framers didn’t intend for Congress to become another prosecutorial branch, yet another investigative branch.
They’re supposed to pass laws. So it seems to me these investigations look like they’re going too far.”

It appears Nadler’s subpoena list of 81 Trump family, friends and associates was compiled under suspicious circumstances.

How would Nadler know all the Trump people...unless he was stalking them, their whereabouts, and their activities.

Stalking is a crime if carried out on anyone........

Cong Jim Jordan and the rest need to ask:

<><> how, when, where, and why Nadler compiled the list .....

<><> why did he pull it out only when he got subpoena power.

<><> what did Nadler intend to do with the list IF he had not gotten subpoena power?

Refusing a Congressional subpoena is ‘contempt of Congress’, which is a misdemeanor.

It requires a floor vote of the whole House.

(hat tip magua) This is a Gestapo trial.

Making Ivanka and Don Jr. rat out their parents.

Sending a Prussian to break down your door at 5 AM with guns drawn. Yesterday, someone used the word McCarthyism. I say no.

These people are worse-—they are Gestapo thugs. 80 people could be rounded up.

Remember they are not after the president they are after you!

My understanding is that Congress can only issue subpoenas for matters related to their oversight responsibilities -- and their oversight responsibilities DO NOT extend to matters outside the actual workings of Congress or the Executive Branch.

In other words, they almost certainly have no authority to demand tax returns or business records that relate to anything before President Trump was in office.
