Colorado is the latest state to pass a bill which would change the way presidential candidates win office. The state joins 11 others after passing a bill to join the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact. Under the compact, the candidate who receives the most popular votes nationwide would be be awarded the electoral college votes from participating states, even if the candidate lost in that state. In order for the bills in states which have passed laws recognizing the agreement, a total of 270 electoral votes from participating states is needed. Colorado has joined California, Connecticut, D.C., Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, and Washington. That brings the compact to 181 electoral votes of the 270 needed.

Of course..all the LIBERAL states, they want to decide who wins elections..that way Democrats will always win
Nice way to sell out the wishes of your own state citizens.
This can’t be done this way, since it is in the Constitution HOW we elect a president. In order to “change” things, there would have to be an amendment, which is NOT going to happen!
Oh yeah, and the Supremes will stand by and wait for the first lawsuit to use to settle this idiocy.
You can bet your ass it is!
Just another step toward NWO. I personally don’t know how the Good Lord can stand looking at us. . .we have turned into an evil empire. . .and without repentance and mercy from the Lord, we are toast.
I’m good with this. Purge all voter rolls. Everyone needs to re-register to vote. Military voting gets first priority. Mail in ballots have to be accompanied by a valid electric/gas bill. Same day registration will no longer be accepted. An ICE agent will be stationed at every polling center. Citizenship papers will be required to vote.
If that isn’t acceptable, than this is a non-starter.
Another Civil War poison pill.
So state governments are taking away the citizens right of electing presidents and the citizens are doing nothing about it? Democrats rejoice..especially the East and West coast ones.
Jack and Jill run a 100-yard dash. Jill leads after 80 yards but Jack finishes strong and wins. Jill complains that she would have won had the race been only 80 yards.
Jack agrees to run the race again. Jill leads after 60 yards but Jack finishes stronger and wins this race too.
What foolishness that Democrats think that they will win if we change the rules toward winner of the popular vote rather than the electoral college. Republicans don’t bother to campaign at this point in CA, NY, IL. If the rules were to change, there are a lot of votes on the margin to be won there. Dems on the other hand would have to go out into rural OH, WI, and MO, which they are constitutionally incapable of doing.
Yeah, and Obama can’t be President........oh wait....
Awesome idea... Let California and New York determine who the president will be. Thankfully, this the fakest news of the day, since the chances of such nonsense ever occurring is ZERO!
It’s quite literally urban areas vs rural areas.
Article I, Section 10, Clause 3:
No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.
In a sane world, someone would have pointed out they need an amendment for this.
It’s easy to understand. You know how illary stacked the delegate vote in the democrat party primary against breadline Bernie? They are trying to force the states into the same scheme. All your electors go to the winner of the popular vote even if your state chooses the other candidate.
Note that LA County, CA has more people than 40+ states. They don’t even want to ID voters for their scheme.
So they lose their electoral votes and get nothing
It’s quite literally urban areas vs rural areas.
And that is probably how the civil war will be fought. But it is also where we will learn that, though there are a lot more people in urban areas, a large minority of them are conservatives.
The Constitution leaves it up to the States to decide how to choose their Electors.
This approach might be legit.
