Roger Stone cannot speak publicly about case, judge rules

Federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson on Thursday dramatically restricted Roger Stone's ability to speak publicly about his case after he published an Instagram post with what appeared to be the crosshairs of a gun drawn behind her head.

From this moment on, Stone may not speak publicly about the investigation or the case or any participants in the investigation or the case.

"Period," Jackson adds.

Jackson said Stone could issue no statements on the radio, no press releases, no blogs, no media interviews, no Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or Snapchat posts and no statements can be made on his behalf by spokespersons, family members or even "many volunteers," Jackson said.

"This is not baseball," she added. "There will not be a third chance."

I’m wondering why Mueller has his own personal Obama judge for every person he charges. She has the Managort, Cohen, Gates, and now Stone?!?! Flynn was tried by a Clinton judge!

That is the way it works or used to in Communists Countries. By trial date, the defendant had already written out hos/her confession and the prosecutor had it in his possession. From that point forward, the purpose of the “trial” was to demonize the defendant and demonstrate that the sentence imposed on him/her was justified.

That was all the excuse she needed to gag Stone’s speech in defense of his reputation. Unfair becsuse she’s not going to gag media attacks on stone.

“A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against Hillary Clinton alleging that her use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state was the deadly impetus behind the 2012 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya that left four Americans dead, including U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens. U.S. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, appointed by former President Barack Obama and based in Washington, D.C., made the decision Friday, dismissing the case brought on by Patricia Smith, the mother of State Department information officer Sean Smith, and Charles Woods, the father of CIA operative Tyrone Woods. The parents alleged, when they filed the suit in August, that Clinton’s use of a private email server “exposed confidential information about plaintiffs’ relatives to the terrorists.”

“(DEC. 17, 2013)—Judge Amy B. Jackson, DC District Court, has stonewalled the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena for documents related to the U.S. Justice Department’s ill-fated Fast and Furious operation. She is yet another Harvard Law graduate in the ever-growing White House corruption scandal.

Tragically, U.S. border guard Brian Terry was killed in Peck Canyon, Arizona on Dec. 15, 2010 by an AR-15 assault rifle. This weapon was part of a cache of weapons trafficked to Mexican drug cartels under Fast and Furious. Mr. Terry’s family has been stonewalled as well.

On Jun. 26, 2012 by House Resolution No. 706, Attorney General Eric Holder was held in contempt of Congress for failing to turn over subpoenaed documents regarding Fast and Furious. Since then, Judge Jackson has stalled the Committee’s efforts to get the documents through the courts.”

Jackson also contributed $1,000 to Clinton’s 1992 Democratic presidential campaign and while previously working at a law firm, represented former Democratic congressman William J. Jefferson in a corruption trial, the Washington Post reported

Sometimes, you have to take the stand (not legally required, but to persuade a judge or jury and rebut the prosecution), and it’s best not to paint yourself into a corner with contradictory statements.

Yeah Stone, how dare you try to come up with as much propaganda as the optics of a full tactical swat raid on your home? Who the hell do you think you are, trying to sway public opinion like that?

I agree he should defy this order, it a violation of his rights and freedom. Fight it in public and to a higher court.

This could end up being the wisest thing.

This isn't really about the wisdom of running one's mouth while in a court proceeding, but rather whether the judge has overstepped her bounds -- and Constitutional rights -- to issue this over-reaching gag order.

The Constitutionality of this ruling seems highly questionable -- and should be subject to immediate overrule by a judge on either side of the political spectrum.

Thank you for posting it. Wow does the media ever exaggerate! I wager she’s more angry about the text than the image but the media made it out to be all about the image.

Still wish he could be able to fight this - it needs to be done for the sake of all Americans to stop judges in the future. 1st Amendment, 4th Amendment, 5th Amendment, 6th Amendment rights are all violated by one bench edict. This should not be allowed to stand.

In light of the recent SCOTUS ruling, 9-0, rejecting excessive seizure of assets there is a logical connection that such a total ban is likewise excessive.

And if I read the ruling it even seems to indicate that neither you, nor I, can even speak about it! She writes “no statements can be made on his behalf by... even “many volunteers”. I’ve never met Stone, never communicated with him, have nothing whatsoever to do with the case but I can’t go on the courthouse steps or on TV to talk about it?
