Lara Logan, the journalist who gained wider renown covering war-torn spots in the Middle East for CBS News, is no longer with the network and has not been for several months.
The split, disclosed as the result of Logan making an appearance over the weekend on a podcast in which she suggested news consumers ought to get information from both liberal and conservative outlets, might come as a surprise to outsiders. Logan had been working for 60 Minutes and gained a reputation for visiting dangerous locales in Afghanistan and Iraq, often embedded with U.S. armed forces. She joined CBS News in 2002 and had been one of the units top foreign correspondents.

You don't know that. I've been a fan of this stellar reporter for a long time. She's kept her mouth shut and her head down in her job (which is what you do when embedded with the military for years on end). Her politics have NEVER been a part of her reporting. Do yourself a huge favor and listen to her interview with SEAL Mike Ritland where all this media swirl came from. If you don't have a little crush on her after that, you've gotten too old (LOL). CBS is the loser here - no doubt in my mind.
Try LISTENING to her. You might learn something.
gang raped ...
Do you know for sure she has denied anything? When you were embedded with the Afghan Army, which reality did you deny. When you rode the road to Baghdad during Shock and Awe, which reality did you deny? When you were in a HUMVEE with 12 other people that ran over two anti-tank mines, which reality did you deny? Listen to the interview. This woman cared about doing her damn job to the best of her ability, and not much else. She's earned the combat respect of the finest soldiers on the planet. She deserves yours too. We need a 1000 more journalists more just like her.
You don't know what you are talking about.
Indeed, like Charlize Theron. In fact Charlize and Lara are two of the hottest AA in America.
IIRC, she said a bunch of women saved her.
I agree, I think Lara had bought into the Prog Leftist/Globalist utopian propaganda Western Media had pushed regarding Arab Spring, the Muslim Brotherhood, Middle East "Democratic Freedom Fighters", Color "Revolutions", Maiden "Demonstrators" and the real players in these Evil Organizations.
If she had known the real truth about them, she would not have put herself at risk under their "protection".
She said she was committing career suicide. And Tim Conway Jr said she wont last a day at CBS after saying that, and he was right.
Lara must have “FU Money” stowed away.
It definitely proves she was right, though, doesnt it?
So true. I took a writing class at a community college to prepare for the university (I was an older student and needed a refresher). There were 25 students in the class - 4 whites, and the rest were about half Latino and half Black.
The professor had us do an exercise where we got into small groups and discussed some stuff. My group had me and four Blacks. We did our exercise and then had time leftover, so I asked them where they were from. They all said they were from Africa. I asked them first if they ever got any American TV in Africa. They all said, "Yes! Bill Cosby!" That in itself is now sad when I think of it.
I asked them what they were planning on doing after they graduated. One was going on to be a nurse, another an accountant, another a teacher and the last wanted to get him masters in chemical engineering.
Then, I said that I did not know they were from Africa. And each of them chimed in to say that they were not like the other Blacks in the class. "Those others have an attitude where they don't really appreciate this country."
I was sort of blown away by their responses, but it fits. At least by the Blacks who are in our faces about how unjust this country is. Not the more conservative ones like Diamond and Silk.
The left was all rah-rah until it went sideways and brought us into Syria. But that was all part of foreign policy under Obama. Light it up and walk away, never turn to face the flames.
Light it up and walk away,
never turn to face the flames.
Why, that’s plum poetry!
“She is south African.
Now that she is in the States, she is an African-American.”
We had a guy in my department who was a white South African and a naturalized US citizen. We tried to claim him as an African-American for EEOC brownie points. No dice.
That was rather racist of them!
“Was she the one who got raped at a Muslim Brotherhood thingie in Egypt?” Yes she was brutally gang raped by dozens of animals who lust after white western blonds.
And I'm happy for her to continue doing so.
You've obviously assumed that blacks don't read Free Republic, and that none would ever see your racist post. Wrong.
What an insult!
Do you know for sure she has denied anything?

Lara was/is a news reporter and a good one. I believe that most of her career she truly believed the organization she worked for was just as interested in truth as she was. I think recently, especially since Arab spring, she realized that increasingly her employer and many of her colleagues weren’t what she initially thought they were. I’m thrilled she spoke out. It took courage and character to do so. I think her eyes were opened and perhaps didn’t want to see that unpleasant truth. Many of us have realized this since Cronkite, CBS, and the 60’s “peace” movement. The truth is slanted through their leftist “rose colored glasses”. We need , and are starting to find, more Lara Logans and Sara Carters. Thanks for your response.
