Congratulations, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez! You just killed 25,000 jobs for urban Democrats in one of the most racially and ethnically diverse areas in the entire world!
Congresswoman AOC, the thought leader of the Democratic party, was the loudest and feistiest political opponent when Amazon announced it would build (half of) its second headquarters in Long Island City, Queens, promising to create 25,000 jobs and generate some $27.5 billion in tax revenue over the next 25 years. Amazon employs a range of people from unskilled workers to tech geniuses and would have pumped large amounts of money into the city economy. It estimated the average salary of its New York City workforce would have been $150,000. Real-estate prices in Long Island City jumped 15 percent since Amazon’s announcement last November.
But after Amazon walked away in an anti-Valentine to the city on Feb. 14, AOC bragged on Twitter that “everyday New Yorkers & their neighbors defeated Amazon’s corporate greed, its worker exploitation, and the power of the richest man in the world.”
Huh? A Siena poll this week showed that New York City residents approved of the deal by 56 to 33 percent. Fellow Democrats Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Mayor Bill de Blasio were pushing hard for the deal.

I hate to disagree, but I EASILY see her filling Madison Square Garden (and venues like it throughout the country), if she chooses to have an event there. Anyone she brings up on stage will get a boatload of cash...maybe not millions, but certainly enough to launch political careers.

No one would be dumb enough to choose her, regardless of who she can bring along. And that won’t matter anyway, because she isn’t the type to take orders from anyone - she goes for the top job, and the Republicans better be VERY CAREFUL in dealing with her then (in 2024), because a simple slip-up and the campaign focus becomes entirely on the Republican candidate (whoever that is), and she becomes the ‘default’ candidate for people turned off by the Republican, and wins on that.
AOC is bat-shit crazy, as well as being a noxious, venomous LIEberal harridan!

The "youth" I know who work in NYC are really pissed at her for chasing away 25K jobs from the area.
Suppose the sheer numbers in both coasts overwhelm the red states in the middle, there is one option left for the red states. Secede.

The NYC Council and State leg killed it. AOC has no control over whether local government offers tax breaks or not. Cuomo had to hold a gun to De Blasio’s head to get him on board.
I get she’s the symbol of the far left but blaming her for everything is silly.
