Soon after speaking to President Trump about the firing of his boss James Comey, Andrew McCabe, who became the bureau's acting director, began obstruction of justice and counterintelligence investigations involving the president and his ties to Russia. In his first television interview since his own firing, McCabe tells 60 Minutes' Scott Pelley he wanted those inquiries to be documented and underway so they would be difficult to quash without raising scrutiny.
"I was very concerned that I was able to put the Russia case on absolutely solid ground, in an indelible fashion," McCabe tells Pelley in the interview. "That were I removed quickly, or reassigned or fired, that the case could not be closed or vanish in the night without a trace."
The interview with the veteran FBI agent who rose to acting director of the bureau will be broadcast on 60 Minutes, Sunday, February 17 at 7:00 p.m., ET/PT on CBS.
"I wanted to make sure that our case was on solid ground and if somebody came in behind me and closed it and tried to walk away from it, they would not be able to do that without creating a record of why they made that decision," McCabe said.
The White House responded to the opening of that investigation, calling it a "completely baseless investigation."

Here’s my quick review:
Go to work everyday with the thought that you will do the right thing and follow the rules. Help improve the process when you can, but that may require stepping on a few toes. Find yourselves languishing at a less than desirable duty station until you get a big break in a major case. Hopefully that will get you noticed and promoted to SAC.
Or just kiss a lot of ass, talk a great job, take credit from the agents described above, make political connections, and do the dirty work of the boss, while keeping the dirt on them. This will guarantee continuous promotions. McCabe, etal, chose this route.
McCabe and Comey both belong in prison.
“McCabe has admitted that the FBI has become a political tool of the Democrat Party who are willing to destroy the political enemies of the Democrats without bothering to find any evidence of a crime.”
McCabe has admitted that he was a ring leader in a mutiny for the political purpose of overturning the will of the American people. He should be punished as a failed mutineer.
No explanation on why he opened the investigation. corruption.

Let me get this straight...because it’s confusing for me.
1. All these guys, even Sessions, know full well that the Russian Dossier was a fake.
2. They all know full well, since they were wire tapping Trump, that there was no Russian contact other than what you’d expect ie Sessions, and other Trump aids talking to the Russian ambassador etc.
3. Knowing that this whole thing was a hoax, McCabe says it was his solemn duty to protect the USA so he orders the investigation.
4. Sessions recuses himself rather than asking WHY do we need this?
5. McCabe claims that he went to McConnell and Schumer on this. What did they say to him?
6. Clearly Rosenstein was wired, and trying to catch the newly elected president.
7. clearly these people had in essence oonducted a coup.
In short, this guy is a lying scum bag and so is Rosenstein.
Sessions turns out to be a gutless wonder.
McCabe actually ordered a probe at the behest of the Clinton Crime Foundation who was illegally funneling money to his wife’s failed state Senate campaign.
The troublesome issue here is how somebody like McCabe can rise through the FBI >>>>
no what is troubling is the whole FBI, CIA, DOJ, IRS BLM, etc is corrupt. the entire government needs to be cancelled, purged, deleted!
McCabe was termed before he get retirement. His book is selling at amazon okay right now although I don’t know why you would want to read it. The man was found to have been untruthful at least four times by the FBI.
Trump might have considered Christie for AG instead of Sessions. If he had, none of this would have happened.
McCabe needs to die slowly and horribly preferably of some disease for which there are no pain killers.
So we have learned there is a swamp and the swamp has been in power for some time. That swamp consists of high ranking individuals in the obama administration, in the FBI and the Justice Dept ... all areas and all depts....
the one honest Pro America man, President Trump... he has been firm and steady.. alone...for 2 years.
I want to know what they are going to do about the situation where there are no honest men... no one was working for the people... they all were in this illegal mess!!
Will they be held accountable? Will justice be served?
This has never happened in this country before, to this extent... obama opened the pit.. and if hillary had been elected, this would still be going on and they would have had complete control over everything!
Clean it up!! Congress has been next to nothing in helping Trump... the repubs have dropped the ball.. they are afraid of their own shadow...

Trump and his associates actually had the audacity to have contact with the Russians.
Tell me why ALL political appointees of the previous administration in all levels of government were not fired, stripped of their clearance and escorted from their offices at 1201 on Inauguration Day? They had to know they would NEVER help Trump and would most likely actively oppose him, just like they did. I can’t fathom why any of them were allowed to remain.
DIDN’T HE RECOMMEND THAT COMEY BE FIRED?
McCabe: 1)Central figure in blocking prosecution for Hillary Clinton, Huma, and email scandal. 2) One of central figures in blocking testimony from imbedded agents on Uranium One. 3) Wife ACCEPTED millions from the “Clinton Foundation” and he didn’t report/refuse because of conflict of interest with above. 4) Repeatedly briefed about origin of Dossier by FBI lawyers, and COMPLETELY aware that dossier was opposition research. 5)Completely aware that author of dossier was anti-Trump (like he was) had released information to multiple news agencies to make it look real so he could continue to help get FISA warrants to spy. 6) ABSOLUTELY KNEW, WAS INFORMED, that the DOSSIER was UNVERIFIED.
McCabe is a partisan liar, a disgrace, and was trying for a COUP attempt. He just indicted himself publically by saying he was trying to PROTECT the country when his actions and emails say otherwise.
McCabe should swing from a gallows, like the Lincoln plotters did. Disgusting that my taxpayer money ever went to support this.
Sounds to me more like a confession than anything else.
The political bias and coup plotting of these people is completely obvious. He didn’t feel any compulsion to create an indellible investigation of Hillary Clinton, far from it.
