A charismatic Barack Obama peddled the idea of 5 million new green jobs as he ran for the presidency in 2008. Actually, the number was Hillary Clinton’s idea, but when she lost, Obama appropriated it. I wrote an article in 2010 in the Washington Post busting Obama’s myth, and the green industry rewarded me by keeping me unemployed ever since.
Obama invested billions in the clean energy sector. Flameout after flameout like the solar company, Solyndra, resulted. There was hardly any accrual in new green jobs.
That was the myth of the clean-energy industry — that the technology and business models were ready for 5 millions jobs. They weren’t. I was engineer in one corner of clean energy — smart utility meters.
While politicians sold their myth, the shale oil and gas industry created half a million jobs during the first half of the Obama presidency, all without federal funding or incentives. The economy was still rocky in 2012, and these shale jobs directly contributed in Obama winning his second term.

I guess I missed the report of all the good that our money did at Solyndra. I was trying to think of that name earlier and it wouldn’t come to me. Was Biden in charge of that also like he was in charge of accounting for the billions in the stimulus package? I guess I’ve missed a lot!! They promise and promise, exit from the stage and that’s the last anyone ever hears about the PROJECT but NOT the politician that promised it would take care of all our problems. How great it would be if they disappeared right along with the money!!!
Solyndra wasn’t a failure. It did exactly as planned: funnel millions of dollars to Obama cronies so they could kick-back money to the Dems. Obama didn’t care one iota about “green” energy except as a political weapon.
Wouldn’t want a little thing like the truth to get in the way now would we.
Solyndra, the solar panel manufacturer who took more than $500 million from President Obama’s stimulus then went bust, sticking taxpayers for the loss, lied to federal officials to secure the loan, the Energy Department’s inspector general said in a report released Wednesday.
But the Obama administration goofed too, and may have cut corners in fully vetting the project because of “political pressure” from top Democrats and Solyndra itself, the investigators said in their report, which took four years to complete.
Most of the blame lies squarely on Solyndra, however. Investigators said company officials lied to the government and to independent market analysts and a credit-ratings agency, inflating the value of contract commitments in order to appear more financially promising.
Solyndra also claimed it could charge more than other solar panel manufacturers because its panels were less expensive to install, and built those higher prices into its plan. But it had knowingly oversold the premium it wouldNEle to charge by as much as 65 percent, the inspector general said, skewing all of its financial calculations.
“At its core, Solyndra officials failed to make complete, accurate, and direct disclosures to the department of information that was relevant to the loan guarantee process,” the investigators said. “While the department’s due diligence effort had shortcomings, it is our view that providing misleading answers to departmental inquiries and failing to openly disclose critical information violated the spirit and intent of the requirement for Solyndra to report material changes to its loan guarantee application to the department.”
Solyndra became synonymous with government boondoggles during the early days of the Obama administration, when Mr. Obama was trying to manage the $800 billion stimulus package of tax cuts and new spending, designed to try to pull the economy out of a tailspin.
A large portion of the money was earmarked for the president’s favored areas, such as green energy projects, with the Energy Department pumping billions of dollars into its loan guarantee programs.
Those guarantees have been under scrutiny for years, and Solyndra, which went bankrupt in 2011, wasn’t the only one to go bust. The inspector general has previously found the office overseeing the guarantees was woefully understaffed, likely contributing to questionable loans being approved.

KILMEADE: Marc, what I’m saying is you can be an environmentalist to the left of Al Gore, and obviously she is, and just say this is not practical. I have spent my career as a lawmaker, legislator. Why would you stand behind a deal like this when it is — looks like something that was put out by a 10th grader?

MORANO: I would go as low as third grade. I mean, this is a — just a big bowl of crazy wish list of everything you could imagine. And I think the whole release of this, they have bungled the release. They put in their unwilling workers. They had to pull it from the website. There’s a whole dispute over what they meant on nuclear power. They haven’t even gotten this straightened out. But what they do have straightened out: this is the litmus test for the 2020 Democratic contenders. And in a way they, have given anyone who cares about free markets, liberty, and science, a grand opening to expose anyone who signs on to this plan.

Bill McKibben and Van Jones are pushing a new scam called the Green New Deal and are using the super-flaky Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as the face of it.
The biggest news to come out the 2018 midterm elections is the meteoric rise of Representative-elect Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and her Green New Deal. But if you scratch the surface, you’ll find that the Green New Deal is neither new nor “hers.”

Editor’s Note: Let’s not forget what the Green New Deal is all about; generating government funding for hedge fund investors to exploit in a corporatist orgy of money-making at the expense of taxpayers. Nothing more – nothing less. And you thought the folks paying Bill McKibben and pulling his strings were just looking out for the planet!
No, this is a frighteningly different scam:
“The outline states up front that a Green New Deal must not only “promote justice and equity” but also seek to repair harm and prevent future injury to those most vulnerable to climate change and the fossil fuel economy — namely communities of color, indigenous peoples, migrants, rural communities, the poor, people with disabilities, the elderly, and young people.”
Don’t buy into the “green” label on it; this is about seizing wealth from whites, nothing less.
And, the GOP will, STILL, find ways of not taking full political advantage of this as well as, STILL, find ways of, successfully, losing future elections to pro-socialist candidates for political office, especially from all of the RINOS/GOP Anti-Trumpers out there.

The tax dollars were siphoned off into numbered bank accounts.
