The pro-mass immigration Koch brothers’ network of billionaire, donor class organizations is cheering President Trump’s recent doubling down on supporting increasing wage-crushing legal immigration levels. As Breitbart News reported, Trump broke from his 2015, 2016, and 2017 “America First” commitment to reduce overall legal immigration levels to raise the wages of America’s working and middle class this week when he doubled down on a call for increasing legal immigration.
“We need people in our country because our unemployment numbers are so low and we have massive numbers of companies coming back into our country,” Trump reportedly told the media this week.
“I need people coming in because we need people to run the factories and plants and companies that are moving back in,” Trump said. “We need people.”
Now, the pro-mass immigration and economic libertarian Koch network is praising Trump’s statements endorsing more legal immigration beyond the already 1.2 million legal immigrants that are admitted to the country every year, depressing the wages and job prospects of American workers.

President Trump was our last chance to keep our country.
Trump was one man against an entire army of globalist. I guess he just gave up.
My wages are definitely less because of H1B visa employees.
Personally, I’d accept more LEGAL immigration in exchange for fewer H1Bs and working Visa’s. Why not have the money stay in the country, as well as the quality people (at least they are skilled anyway).
Nobody cares about us. I feel like a white South African farmer.
Because our children have to compete with them and wages are suppressed. So if you want all you children living at home forever then H-1B needs to die!
Trump is making a clever move here, because he is emphasizing the word “legal”. None of that “undocumented” or “dreamer” stuff.
Some conservatives would prefer that Trump halt all immigration, at least for a while. If Trump did that, he’s cede the moral high ground to the liberals. But as it is, Trump is controlling the narrative. He’s driving the bus.
Trump just has to be careful that this legal immigration doesn’t get out of hand.

I don’t think legal immigration was off the table at any point in time.
The legal immigrant is vetted, the legal immigrant should be checked for health, the legal immigrant follows a process that has been established.
It is the illegal immigrant that circumvents all protocol and can be anybody, and can have any any disease that even might have been eradicated in this country, and doesn’t pay taxes, ships money home, and is given welfare as a result of their being some sort of special class when it is clear and evident that they are illegal, they have broken the law.
Fixed.

PLENTY of people in PRISON - farm out some manufacturing to prisons. Every state has a few prisons.
PLENTY of able-bodied young men & women on Welfare - get a bus to take them to work each morning. Provide on-site daycare and drug testing. Cut off benefits if they are drugged up or refuse.
Put ‘unessential’ Government workers to work, elsewhere.
I’m sure those manpower solutions are too MEAN, though. ;)
Legal immigration is already out of hand.
President Trump wants to increase it.
He and the Kochs also know that whatever he does, you are not voting for the radical Communist whackjob on the Democrat ticket in 2020.
It's been out of hand for decades. We've lost our country, our society, our heritage, and our culture. President Trump is apparently planning to stay the course.
H1Bs are a terrible idea. I almost think I’d rather have illegal immigrants (as long as they weren’t temporary migrants) than people who take decent jobs but don’t stay as citizens involved in the permanent economy and growth of the standard of living as contributors both as workers and consumer and tax payers.
Maybe immigrants lower wages, but at least they have a chance to assimilate and join the permanent economy. H1Bs suck wages right out. Citizens don’t get a chance to learn the needed skills nor get on the job training because it can be out-souced or in-sourced with H1Bs and they have so little to give back.
Awesome, I’m totally OK with being demographically replaced now since it’s being done through the prior channels.
Yeah, this was my big fear with backing Trump. I always new this sellout could happen. So I agree with you. FUBAR.
