WASHINGTON A divided Supreme Court stopped Louisiana from enforcing new regulations on abortion clinics in a test of the conservative courts views on abortion rights.
The justices said by a 5-4 vote late Thursday that they will not allow the state to put into effect a law that requires abortion providers to have admitting privileges at nearby hospitals.

My sympathies on your (cheated by the court) loss.
Its not limited to Roberts, Justices flipping Left seems to be a surprisingly widespread and one could say almost universal phenomenon for some reason.
Hes a compromised justice.

He certainly acts like he is.
It’s not over yet!
“Chief Justice John Roberts joined the courts four liberals in putting a hold on the law, pending a full review of the case.”
John Roberts is completely compromised.
A Bush appointee...
Yep, I remember when Laura Ingraham was singing his praises.
Thanks GW, thanks so much.
Congress can impeach. That’s about it.
Chief Justice Rehnquist missed 44 oral arguments in 2004/5, and worked and voted from home. No one has the ability to challenge things like that.
If RBG showed up to work, then we need to see the photos.
She was not at the State of the Union.
No, but the meds might.
The good news is that Gorsuch & Kavanaugh have now shown that they will uphold some state laws that regulate abortion providers.
FU JR.
I'm really sick and tired of the whole damn court. Nine people in robes do NOT have the final say in our republic. The people are the boss, period. The supreme court is just that, the highest court, they are not the highest authority. That title lies with the people. Clearly we need an amendment to clarify that fact.
The same 5 will vote to deny a full review of the case. They will simply kill the law dead by not hearing it any further.
I thought the court was recessed.
Pulling the puppet strings once again on whatever it is Soros has on him.
It is. These are ‘emergency’ rulings. Judges review and vote from wherever they may be traveling for vacations, speeches, etc.
We all knew after his Obamacare vote that we have lost him.
I thought this was just a delay - was this the final ruling?
