Ever since the historical musical "Hamilton" began its march to near-universal infatuation, one group has noticeably withheld its applause historians. Many academics argue the portrait of Alexander Hamilton, the star of our $10 bills, is a counterfeit. Now they're escalating their fight.

Those darn white supremacists who sacrificed wealth and even life to create our nation.
Well, Lin Manuel Miranda insisted on hiring minorities to play all the parts. They should go bitch at him.
[[[Dr. Lyra D. Monteiro’s criticism jumps from the page to the stage when she notes that three minority actors play white, slave-owning current or future presidents obscuring “the white supremacist origins of our country.]]]
So its being attacked from the “Further Left”. LOL
I love it when they eat their own.
The Democrat craves the violent destruction of Western culture.
The Democrat is evil.
Furthermore, historians disagreed on whether the Founding Fathers actually “rapped” all of their dialog.
founding fathers in black face... seems a bit ...racist to me.
No can do. It’s Black History Month/Decade/Century/Racist Era.
Winner!
FO Enemies of all for which we stand!

I do find the idea of it being attacked as right-wing propaganda hilarious.
Id like to know when Miranda will be accused of Cultural Appropriation!!
Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were not of the ruling class.
Abraham Lincoln was not of the ruling class.
FWIW, the Dixie Chicks fizzled out.

But it is a lie to say they had no reservations at all about them, or to ignore that for some in the end they rejected them.
While it is wrong to simplify historical figures by airbrushing away their warts, it is also wrong to lift up the warts as the only primary consideration we should have of them.
Very few great historical figures (by what they accomplished) were saints. Regardless, we should not deny the particular achievements of theirs that do deserve our thanks or our applause.
Hamilton was, O.K., no saint. But he accomplished quite a bit.
