The CBS broadcast game out of Atlanta was seen by a total audience of 100.7 million, according to CBS Sports.
That number comes from when you add up everyone who watched on CBS the network, CBS Interactive, NFL digital properties, Verizon Media mobile properties, ESPN Deportes television and other digital properties. Besides being a very unique bundling spin on Super Bowl numbers that previous broadcasters havent shamelessly taken, thats the first time the NFLs big game on a network as fallen beneath 100 million viewers since 2009 when the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in Super Bowl XLIII.
With no mention of how the tepid Maroon 5 led halftime show did, CBS are keeping the actual number of eyeballs that saw the game on the network alone close to the chest. However, I hear that it is very close on the low side to the 98.7 million of 2009s Super Bowl XLIII.
The actual number of people who watched the 6:32 to 10:05 PM ET game on CBS itself was 98.2 million
Which means, without CBSs sleight of bundled hand, last nights game is down just over 5% in total audience from last years Super Bowl on NBC. Compared to the last time the net had the big NFL game in 2016, the sewn together number of 2019 Super Bowl took a tumble of 12%.
In terms of post-game play, the news was much better for CBS and hence they played it more straightforwardly.
Unencumbered by overtime or any other delays that have hobbled previous post-Super Bowl slot holders, the 10 30 PM ET premiere of the James Cordon hosted and EPd competition series The Worlds Best pulled in around 22.2 million sets of eyeballs with an 18-49 demo rating of 7.0.

One of the worst football games I have ever watched. All of the activism crap, idiotic rules and horrible referee calls is slowly driving me away for good.
Probably because Obama wasn’t interviewed. Yeah, that’s it.
I think it was a combination of a number of things - Patriots fatigue, the kneel down controversy, etc.
Not that I’m sorry about it though.
NFL collusion with Satan.
I think you hit the nail on the head with “Patriots Fatigue”.
I, for one, didn’t watch.
Took a knee as it were.
There are more fans of Club America, the Mexican soccer team, in LA than the Rams.
Viewership is down because people like me trash talk the NFL in public.
Tbe Rams would not attend the White House if they won.
Tom Brady fixed that. The loser Rams said they wanted to stay home.
The Rams shouldn’t have counted their virtue-signalling eggs until after Tom Brady deflated them.
Me too but we have our super bowl party so there’s that and yes Brady is magnificent! Best QB in history of the NFL.
The Social Justice blather was a real turn off. But, Brady was magnificent. This is why he has 6 super bowl wins.
I don’t understand this sentiment.
The best competitors compete and the best win. This year, Brady and the Patriots were the best. Just like they were the other times.
It’s about competition and the best winning. At least for me. I love watching the best athletes compete.
None of this, let someone else have a chance bullshit. RME, anyone who competes athletically, or musically, or whatever, you compete to win. Always.
Nobody who just likes their own “team” cares when their team isn’t in the championship. Those who enjoy the sport care.
The Brand is hurt by the social justice warriors for sure. It also doesn’t help when the media is against the best team in the NFL. Just like they’re against the current President.
Fortunately, I couldn’t give a damn what the media thinks about the sports I enjoy watching nor about my president.
Fatigue with the best QB in the history of the game and the best team in the game? I just don’t understand that and the Steelers are my (my family’s team).
By way of apology Hyundai should offer any vegan that buys one of their cars a free upgrade to a leather interior.
I hear you and agree. But that is really the way some people are.
I am an Alabamian. Always loved the Tide. But these past few years I’ve heard way too many times people say they don’t like all the way to hate the U of A because they’re always #1 in the BCS and won 16 NCAA championships.
And especially under Nick Sarbanes have been either number 1 or 2 since he’s been coach.
But haters got to hate...
I’m just trying to give some reasons for the poor viewing numbers for this Super Bowl. Gosh, over the past couple of weeks, and especially the past 24 hours, right here on Free Republic, we’ve heard enough Patriots hate to last the next decade.
“But haters got to hate...”

Yep! One poster last night hoped the the Patriots plane would crash on the way home——it was pulled,of course.
The Super Bowl has become a long commercial,a half time show, and a game tossed in occasionally. Sad.
.
.
It was not a football game but commercials interrupted by football. The continual orgasmic slobbering over Brady as the Goat with the failure to acknowledge that he and his contemporaries play under far different conditions than other greats from the past turns a lot of people off.Football as it was designed to be played occurs at the high school level. We have been told by the league and experts over the decades that the players are the cream of the crop of football but the game last night was played like a hs freshmen teams playing their first game.
“Total disaster. The game sucked. Wrong team playing due to blown call. Half time sucked ( we hate hip hop crap). The game was boring beyond gag reflex.”
i literally fell asleep for part of the game, even though we had guests over to watch with us ...

Haha Team Ruff defeated Team Fluff 5951 in a really tight game.
I’m old, grew up in Boston, and there were three teams there——Bruins,Red Sox,and Celtics.—(after The Braves left).
No Patriots,and no SuperBowl.
We followed BC/Holy Cross,Harvard/Yale, and Army/Navy-—that was IT for football.
The NFL is about MONEY,that’s what it has become.

They got everything they deserve.
