Nancy Pelosi addressed a gathering of presidents of Christian colleges this week in Washington, where she thanked the evangelical community for its leadership on immigration and refugee policy reform. To this end, the speaker of the House quoted a favorite bit of biblical wisdom in her opening statement: To minister to the needs of Gods creation is an act of worship. To ignore those needs is to dishonor the God who made us.

OK, actually, she said, it might not technically be from the Bible.
Small technicality

The Bible is a living document, constantly being updated to needs of the Party.
The latest version is big on transgenderism...

She says all kinds of things that are made up out of whole cloth.
She can get away with it due to her sex and her political views.

I’m guessing the verse Pelosi is quoting came from a Unitarian prayer book.

And the Lord proclaimed “Thou shall open thy borders”
Oh wait that’s not actually in the Bible?

And Jesus said go out and create huge government bureaucracies that take money from some, at the point of sword, and give it to others as a bureaucrat sees fit.
For this will buy votes and is the will of the Lord.

Oh I know that passage. It's right next to this one.

I still remember seeing on TV, Speaker of the House Mike Mansfield (Dem) say that the Bible teaches that “God helps those who help themselves.” The Dems know even less about the Bible today.

I kind of like this biblical phrase that never quite made it into the bible. "The Lord helps those who help themselves." However, I doubt Nancy would want to use this one.

Maybe it’s in Two Corinthians?

My favorite Bible “misquote” by a politician was when Algore stated that his favorite verse was John 16:3 instead of John 3:16. That had to be the work of the Lord, in that when Algore rearranged the numbers, he was without a doubt referencing the scriptures to himself.
“They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.”

I know that quote its in Jude 6:23.

Then there's that other Bible text she often uses, that succinctly spells out the demoncrap taxing philosophy: "The Lord giveth, and the demoncraps taketh away."
